The stone was not rolled away, to be thrown
the next day. Read the letters in the sand
(Oh wait you can't, that's not scripture)
Red letters, in the sand. Bleeding.
No. Sisyphus doctrine, spoon fed to blind men.
Again. And Again. Move mountains, don't
create them. He is Risen. He is Risen. Let Him---
stay that way, don't put Him back in.
Love wins. But if only & only if. It is a virus.
Spread like bird flu. Secretions & Excretions.
No man is an island or the egg alone he came in.
Take wing. The Sun shines indiscriminately.
Stop the beat-ings.
Sing.
written for Magpie Tales.
Happy Easter and if you don't celebrate, may your day be filled with sun...and hopefully not too many tummy aches from too much chocolate.

Wish you a Happy Easter!
Powerful, Brian. I'm not sure if you meant to, but for me, you've spoken volumes about the hypocrisy of many of the "religious."
Happy Easter, my friend.
And wow, almost made it in first.
love wins only if it's a virus? is that supposed to be nasty? what does that mean???
Like this one a lot. Especially "The Sun shines indiscriminately."
Oh, I so agree with all of this Brian.
If love was a virus, I would be first in line to spread it as far and as wide across this world as I could possibly do, and, I'd ask everyone I know to do it too. Love conquers everything, if only we would ALL open our eyes to reality instead of wearing blinkers to the truth.
What a wonderful read. Yes, 'He' is Love.
Still working on mine for the Mag. :)
oh you got the gist patti...smiles.
Happy Easter Brian!
I had pnacakes for breakfast. With broken pieces of girardelli chocolate. So happy easter bunny to you too!
We do have the challenge of wedding the way the world is to the way it ought to be. Happy Easter Brian.
Brian, love the line the stone was rolled away not to be thrown. You've got it, man.
Happy Easter, Cheryl
The sun shines indiscriminately as does the rain fall. Happy Easter my friend. He is risen!
Happy Easter Brian...I love this line: The Sun shines indiscriminately.
It sure does :)
Thank you for this cool feel good write. :)
Love this section, B:
"It is a virus.
Spread like bird flu. Secretions & Excretions.
No man is an island or the egg alone he came in."
Happy Easter. :)

YES! No man is an island.
Puzzling to me, in a religious sort of way. I'm agnostic, but respectfully so. "Love for sale to the highest donator, heaven is for the sinless perfect. What's the use of wasting this short life for a mystical pipedream?"
You flew with the prompt! Some nice allusions here.
Awesome write!
Happy Easter, Brian!
i think that's the coolest easter hip-hop i've ever heard..yep.. we shouldn't reduce what he has done with our weird actions and wrong understanding of religion...happy easter bri
"Move mountains, don't create them" resonates with me. Love would be the only virus I would like to spread around the world.
Happy Easter Brian ~
Well I agree
Even if you did set off by ocd
Bird flu can stay with the birds
Other than words
And let the lovey dovey come
Making many hum
Eggcellent Easter poem. ;) Seriously. Nice challenges without sides. Spread love like a virus, spread love without preference or discrimination. Love not hate. Love not indifference. Thanks, Brian. Smiles and hugs.
If love is liken to a virus and spreads like bird flu, how nice,Brian! Everyone would be in love and so a loving world it is! Happy Easter!
Hank
Magnificent. Yes, no man is an island.
I have heard the phrase "the benign virus of love" before, but you have said it so incredibly well, Brian. Thank you and boo-yah back atcha.
Again, Brian...that title!! You have such a way with one liners. Happy Easter or sunshine and chocolate (as you said).
"The stone was not rolled away, to be thrown the next day. Read the letters in the sand (Oh wait you can't, that's not scripture) Red letters, in the sand. Bleeding."
Hi! Brian...
I really like the "push" and "pull" Of your [beautiful] poetic words this Easter Sunday.
[Your [poetic] words compliment your equally, beautiful image...too!]
Tks, for sharing and Happy Easter to you, your family, friends, and readers too!
deedee ;-D
Love is the message
Happy Easter
enjoyed this Brian...well done as usual
Thank you, Brian for these wise
words.
I particulaly like that last single word line. Very effective.
Love should be a virus resistant to all forms of anitBODIES- (hehe, I surprised myself). Happy Easter!
"The stone was not rolled away, to be thrown
the next day."
Your poem is so deeply insightful, made me think... Every year we kill and bury christ so we can resurrect him; we do the same with lost loved ones - is that l-o-v-e, or is it clinging to old stories? ...And, what isn't open to new ways of interpreting faces the danger of remaining forever dead.
Happy Easter :)
The raw side of it. Love how you force the reader to engage the brain. Nice.
On a lighter note ... for your precious boys, Brian :) Blow out a raw egg, syringe coloured hot! Jello in, tape holes shut, cool in fridge ... voila ... surprise eggs ready :) Happy Easter, my friend. Love, cat.
I am so glad that the rock is rolled away. Leave the spirit to be free. Hope that you and your family are enjoying the day. Beautiful here!
Great picture to start my mind going on this one. Love the pacing and energy. I hear you on this one.
What a great take! He is risen indeed! I loved your challenge to spread the message of resurrection. His resurrection surely has implications. :) Good job!
I'm going to have to read this a few more times to get it all, but it is powerful. Hope you and your family enjoyed the day.
Happy Easter to the Millers!!
Definitely one of the more abstract Easter poems I'll read today...
Can't add much to what has been already expressed, as i am coming to the party late.... I love the ending though, I must say. Hoping you and family had a very happy Easter, Brian.

love wins.
my heart is hoping that this is indeed the case.
Brian, this is one of your best purely poetic pieces. Love the mythology and religion, working side by side. Love the message in the latter part, very well put. Great piece. Thanks
Right on! A lot pushed and pulled here--rockin' k.
wow..this was great. the first line says it all, doesn't it!
You always have an interesting take--I hope you and the family had a nice holiday weekend.
Love being back reading you.
(Thank you for your kind words of condolence.)
The angel rolling the rock verses Rolling Rock of Latrobe PA fame... :)
Love is the greatest because it lasts....in heaven we won't need faith or hope.
Happy Easter!
Exquisite take on Easter, Brian. Just the essence of being real, not judging. Too easy to hide behind "doctrine" and miss the message..
Happy Easter, hoping it was, Brian. Spreading it around, resurrection love fever. That'll work. Life's renewal is for everyone, and so is chocolate, I hope!
Well done...
An entanglement of meanings at this time of year. Happy easter to you.
Such a blessed day! I hope your Easter was wonderful!
And still the world hasn't changed!
The weather here is depressingly wet. I'm glad to stay home and read blogs, yours in particular
Great stuff, from recycled ones almost carving out a mythology all your very own.
"Don't put him back in"- Yup that is a good idea and plea. Still working on my brotherhood and teacher
philosophy- a prophet ? not sure.
Wise- oh yes...I think I'll stop there.
No chocolate tummy aches for me! Hope your Easter was filled with family time and egg hunts. :)
The stone was not rolled away, to be thrown the next day.
Move mountains, don't create them.
These were two of my favorite lines. It is so easy in our human nature to just judge others with no thought to the story behind their actions or to just react out of pure emotion and not love. God is Love and He shows us how to love others no matter what. Not an easy task for sure but if we are filled with His spirit and see the world and others as He does, wouldn't there be a huge change amongst the people of this world.
Very nice write my love.
Hip-hopped...and hips don't lie.
Nice one. Happy Easter!
The first line really got me right away. And the whole piece is great. Thanks for sharing!
A complex poem. Love wins - but it takes work.
I am afraid I would have tried very hard to stop the beatings. Sigh!!
Sad and powerful
Hugs

A Happy easter To You + Yours.Regards,Tony.
To the hippest cat I know: I hope you and your family had a very good Easter!
'spoon fed' .. yep, apt description of how so many are indoctrinated.
Yep, too much of love is if only and only if.
Religion, too.
=)
hope you and the family had a great Easter, great meaning in this work for the Real meaning of such an occassion :)
Once again you have cornered the market on great.
I like this one so much..like a rolling stone..this comes from each one's vision..so I'm for the love part..
OhmyWORD, Brian. I absolutely LOVE this. Must go read again. And again. Excellent, EXCELLENT.
Ah, so very nice!
"please , dont beat me !, said the egg to the beater"
Tip-toing the fine lines of theology and being p.c.--in the end, the true message is "love" for those who are listening, and that's all that matters. I like the way you think and write, my friend.
(I wrote "Legacy" trying to walk the same walk, but probably defeated the purpose with quote & image shared at the bottom. Oh well...)
Nicely written with some great food for thought, Brian.
Stop the beatings & sing - if only it could be so!
A glorious tribute to the true meaning of Easter Brian. Love Love Love this!!!
Very nice. Love that first line about the stone not to be thrown. Very nice, indeed.
What, has nobody said 'eggcellent?' Shame! lol
Cool Easter poem. Hope yours was delightful!
I love the picture and great poem to go with it.
Brilliant. Yes, stop the blood in the sand, the beatings, and the "if & only if"...Thank you.
So much here, so much meaning, so well-expressed!
Clever title "Hip-Hop of the Rolling Rock (Easter)"Many people do seem to have a hard time with peace, love, understanding & forgiveness on any type of consistent basis...
