The rod and the staff
helpless.
my gramma
goes under the knife,
fell last night
while we count
valuable minutes
& wait
& wait
& wait
My grandmother fell last night and broke her leg. Surgery is at 1 pm today to put a rod in her leg. If all goes well she will be in a nursing home for a bit recovering. Thoughts and prayers appreciated.
For those that did not see the other day in the comments, my son is doing well. The lump in his neck turned out to be an infected salivary gland It has gone down and is nearly gone now.

Nothing worse then playing the waiting game. Glad you son is better and hopefully gramma follows suit fast.
And look a rhyme at last.
Hope the surgery goes well for your grandma and she heals quickly in the rehab center. It is also good news about the lump in your son's neck. Wishing you and your family many blessings in this Christmas week.
Hope she gets well soon, falls are always scary. Glad your son is doing better as well.
Sorry to hear about grandma, but thrilled to hear your son will be okay. Lots of weirdnesses going on right now in lots of lives. Do you think it's the time of year?
Man it's just one medical nightmare after another for you lately, bri. Best hopes and wishes for your grandmother.
I know the feeling of waiting. Prayers and blessings for your grandma.
Thanks for the update on your son.
Happy Sunday ~
Odd, but my son had exactly the same thing when he was about 4. We had to wait weeks before they would confirm it was not something more serious than an infection. I remember those days so well!!

Best wishes for your Grandma, Brian. Thanks for updating us on your son -- glad to hear.
glad your son is okay and hope the same for
Grannie.
Oh Brian, so glad to hear about your boy. Answered prayer!
My Mom had the same thing happen almost two years ago (she was 86 at the time). She is doing well these days, walking with a cane. I'll be praying for your Mom - and for all of you.
Aww...hope all is well. Surely she's been in surgery by this late hour. Just sent up a prayer for her...and a appreciative one for Cole, too! :)

My mother-in-law has been through the same thing. It's so hard on older people. Hope your grandmother recovers well.
I'm so glad to hear that your son is OK. This must be a huge relief to you and your family. Wonderful news.
Brian - missed this until late this evening. Praying for recovery and vitality and spirit. Good news about your boy. Blessings to you as well my friend.
Isn't that the way life is, good and bad, happy and sad sometimes within fleeting seconds of each other. Sometimes all in the same breath.
Prayers and speedy recovery to your gramma.
This is definitely a good news/bad news kind of a thing. I'm going to have to get a big fat candle and dedicate it to Brian's concerns! Glad all is well with the boy and let us know about Gramma.
Hope for her a speeding recovery! And good news about your son!
I'm so glad to hear that your son is doing better. My mother fell yesterday morning and broke two bones in her leg also. She was able to come home and followup with an orthopedic surgeon this week. Sending prayers your way.

No way around it- just have to wade through-so sorry for the endurance test. Prayers and gratitude always seem to help- & I would just keep pacing...Best of it...

of course, I would be honored....thank you!
My thoughts and prayers dutifully and earnestly sent out her way and yours, along with gratitude about the swollen gland. Happy holidays to you and your family, Brian.
Oh Brian, I'm sorry your family is having a rough go of things. I hadn't read about your son, but I'm glad to see that all turned out well. I will keep your grandmother in my very best thoughts.
Great news on your son but sad news about your gramma.
I will keep her in my prayers!
sorry..i totally missed this.. love that you refer to his rod and staff in the title...
Oh, life.
Happy to hear about your son, and hoping that the antibiotics take care of the infection 100 percent.
So precarious..sometimes... we feel like we're sitting right on the edge of a knife...we could fall on either side.
I am sorry about your precious grandmother. It will be a long road. My mother fell and broke her hip when she was 80 years old. It took almost a year to heal...but that was 5 years ago...and she's back to her shenanigans 100 percent.
Here's to many many blessings, Brian...I know it's someone like you who sees what counts.
It is a pleasure, a joy, an opportunity that goes beyond words, to have met you.
Thank you for your friendship. Baby E and I count it as one of our lucky, lucky happenings in our online lives.
Much joy to you and yours. Prayers to your grandmother.
xo
Oh gosh - hope it all goes well. Sending many healing thoughts.
sorry about your gram, Brian. I know it'll be a hard time for her for awhile-broken bones in the elderly are such setbacks-but I do pray her road to recovery is a short one! And I'm happy to hear your son is doing better :)
Sorry to hear about this. Hope she gets well soon.
If it's not one thing, it's another. I'm glad your son is well and I'm praying for your grandmother's recovery.
Brian, the waiting is often the hardest in times like this as our minds have too much time concocting every scenario in the world which leads to anxiety and else. I hope your grandmother does fine today and glad to hear your son fare out well. Thanks
Oh, I missed this yesterday. I do hope and pray that your grandma;s surgery went well. I broke both tib & fib 3 years ago and needed an op four different casts and four months off my feet too let it heal & and have a metal plate & screws now to hold it all together.
God speed your grandma's recovery and healing Brian.
Very pleased to hear about your son, but so very sorry about your grandmother. Peace to the whole family. ~Mary
you just can't get enough of the hospital, can you! Hope your Grandmother is home for Christmas and on the mend. The best news is your son is fine!

Life holds so many difficulties. Good luck to your grandmother--I am reading this after she has recovered from the surgery, but sounds like there's another long wait. Good luck and much patience! K.
Glad to hear about your son.
Sad to learn about your grandma.
Life sure has its ins and outs, doesn't it?
Hope you see more ups than downs for awhile. You deserve it.
=)
Best wishes for your grandma. Praying that with motivation on her part and excellent therapy on the part of the rehab facility she will be back on her feet and living life soon.
I hope everything turns out well for your gran, that's so sad. Great to read that your son is fine though.
