55 - Now where did those clouds go?
Check the window, yes,
the weather is fair, friend
Good to see you again,
where you been?
Oh no, mucha nothing
just sitting here waiting
On you.
Like you
might just
believe that, cause it
Is you
we always talk about,
an'a weather, of course.
Skies always blue
when you
a'round
Come back soon---
friend.
Tell a story in 55 words. Give it a try or just read more, go see the host with the most, g-man. I have been hanging in his hood on Fridays for over 2 years, so no way I would miss one, intentionally.

I get the embrace behind this one. Nice.
Aww, I like this line: "Skies always fair when you a'round" ... This is very sweet, Brian. :)
Friends and fair skies just naturally go together here. Thanks for opening 55 windows and letting in some sunshine. ;_)
2 years? Wow! And you still keep doing it so incredibly well. This one? I feel this one.
55 words - check~ (I knew you wouldn't miss this ;-))
Like the blue skies image ~
Happy Friday ~
I'm thinking 9-11... maybe it is not what you are talking about... it's amazing how something said, can apply to many different situations?
just having some fun with words...we call those that only stop in every so often fair weather friends, but hey if they bring the fair weather...thats not a bad thing is it...smiles.
"Check the window, yes,
the weather is fair, friend..."
Hi! Brian...
Very nice play on words...nice use Of 55 words too!
Thanks, for sharing!
deedee ;-D
I like your take on fair weather friends, Brian. I especially like the gentle easiness of it.
=)
'Fair-weather friends' are a penny a dozen, eh Brian? Love your play today!
I do like the feel of this for lack of a better word. It even feels mysterious in a way to me, but I think I'm always prone to reading things into poetry that aren't there. Relationships of all kinds are a tricky thing, always evolving, in ways both good and bad :)
I appreciate the idea of limiting yourself to 55. I can imagine this forces/pushes creativity. Maybe I'll have to give it a try sometime :)
Brian....
That puts things back in their Proper Perspective!!
Uh...Exactly how I feel Son...:-)
Always a Top Notch 55
Thanks for finally playing, and have a Kick Ass Shenandoah Week-End
Fair weathered friends
Don't drive me around any bends
They come once and a while then go
Not annoying and that's nice you know
But whether it's the weather or whether its something else one has to weather, harsh or light as a feather, don't really know, until the weather does show
fair weather friend...I've known a few....great write :)
55 and so much fun! :) Have a good weekend.
No such thing as bad weather- only bad gear. Friends, on the other hand... keep 'em few, close and share your espresso with 'em!
Easy rules in Ti-Land. Can't remember how long I've been 55-ing, but I enjoy it every single week (when I'm near a computer, that is).
Very interesting ! and yes twas great to see fair skies again today!!! Have great week- and by the by I really like your Harper Lee piece too- one of my all time favorites.
Fair weather friends... I'd forgotten that expression.
I felt comfortable with this, Brian.
nice..you may not have the deepest conversation with them but at least look up to a blue sky while talking...smiles
I had no intention of skipping this week, either. Same deal.
Interesting, liked it. It has a nicety to it I just can't locate the proper word for, but speech is one of the pleasantries I saw. Really nice Brian, thanks
I always enjoy 55 words.
Good one.
I like this. Sometimes it's okay if it's all about them.
I promise to come back
Nice one, Brian!
This one is special for me. For the way it's woven. Silkily meaningful.
A very light and fun post today, love. Fair weather friends are nice to have and we all probably have them but it's also challenging to go very deep in conversation....weather 'n 'bout them. :)
Very nice....I like it.
like the idiomatic/conversational tone in this one. Another stellar Miller's Tale that Chaucer would be proud of
your 55 impressed me the most and this one is lovely.
Good ol' weather. yup.
A very friendly 55.
Hope you have a fair weather weekend!
I am fortunate to have a few friends like that.
55 words. now thats a challenge.
I read this one out loud a couple of times and it sounded even better. I like the cadence.
I also like the two word lines... "on you", "like you", "is you". These pull you right back into the conversation and give the whole poem some, I don't know... impact.
Hmmm...now I'm feeling even *guiltier* for missing a few weeks... :(
Back in it this week. Love yours.
Instead of coming back soon--I'll just stick a'round. No matter what, the weather's always fair.
Loved the feel of this one :) :)
folksy and fun.
:). I like people who make the gray skies turn blue.
Always a joy coming here.
Aaaaw!
This one is so touching.. loved it absolutely!
Some people are so special.. they make things beautiful..
hugs xoxo

It is a bit scary looking through a window from that height.
I expect you are thinking 9-11.
I find the whole 10 yr looking back very moving.

Nuts in May
Hurray for the sun and friends. Let's hope they stick around when the weather gets rough though...
this is lovely, comforting...thank you Brian
Hey, this one's really cool. Especially for someone who loves the sky and her friends.
I kinda feel the same about clouds...
noting it all down
What a nice way to start the morning!
Nothin' but blue skies...
this evokes, for me, a conversation between friends after running into one another at Windows of the World on that fateful day. (the photo helped me draw the conclusion)
Comfort... I sense comfort, that welcoming company for a cup and gentle silence. No demands. Thanks, Brian. It is a wonderful morning here, too. The weather is gorgeous, no clouds and how ya been?
Beth
Great message in the words. Thanks Brian.
It was sweet one :)
as beautiful as it gets, can't even begin to express the feeling you get when you regain touch with long lost friends!
Awesome 55! :D
This one sure suits G-Man's 55. Love the friendly informal voice here.
I guess here I like the image. That image brings back memories of 1994 when my sister visited me in NC and we took a road trip north to Washington and NYC.
We visited both the Empire State building ad the Twin Towers and every time we see each other we still bring out the old photo albums and it gives us the chills when we gaze at something that is no more...
xoxo
Is this a fair weather friend? I hope not.
blue sky is cool to have,
you are blessed to have so many friends in your place.
a sunshine 55 cleverly done.
