i do not write poems
because i can not stand poets,
too many of them arrogant, act like
they know something & are
the only one aware of it, as if
poetry were some exclusive club
only for the well educated---
let me put you on notice, my
favorite pieces were written in
ignorance as pure art, raw &
intense, lacking polish, but a fist
punch to the solar plexus reflex-tion
of awe-areness---
you don't like the form,
i could care-less---
"well, calling him a poet would
be a stretch," what?! shut your
mouth before flies fly in &
barn storm your bullshit---
you been published? golf clap
for the foolish, blind, in the light
of your pride-fullness, want respect
come down off your pedestal & earn it, \
stop strutting the yard, comb erect,
like the head cock---
yo DJ, play that back-words
see, poetry is the breath breathed,
drop bled, or spoken by the broken,
pen in hand, laid open heart for the
masses, so Mr or Mrs 'Divine Gift'
to poetry, like Mr. T, "I pity the fool"
Pharisee can't clean her own cup, but
those that dare set themselves on fire,
unnoticed & don't care---
I salute you,
as we stand at the Coliseum gates
let us wet the sand boldly
before the lions mouth
of the established institution
it's your voice,
now use it.
It
is that time once again, where poets from around the world converge in a
banquet of verse and eat until nothing else will fit in their mouths, One Shot Wednesday. Any one can write poetry, and anyone can join us. It opens at 5 pm EST today.
I
am posting way early as this will be my last post for a couple
days. Wednesday morning I will be traveling to Baltimore to hang out
with the guys from U2 at Ravens Stadium. Figure this will be a great
time to catch my breath and refocus. See you on the flip side.

i have a hard time swallowing those that think they have arrived and are elitist & arrogant...that is what this is about...it translates to all walks of life...
You use your voice well...
Like any label, "poet" limits the voice to perfection. We silly humans, always struggling to be on top. The best poems come from the bottom...
Brilliant, poetry belongs to the masses, not to the elite. Well said! Have a fabulous time, you'll be missed.. :)
Brian - well stated! This one read like lyrics to me, a certain musical quality to it. Good stuff. Oh, and have fun on your time away. Recharge and take in the world.
I love everything about this..maybe because I write from the heart, I have no set form, my grammar stinks and I just let it go..You said it well!!! Those who are arrogant are really missing the point..I pity them!! Enjoy your break!!!
This is so true and as said well stated. It can apply to everything. It seems a little recognition and all brain cells go out the window, "Oh I'm now so big and can never be wrong, and everyone else is dirt under my feet" or some crap like that. Even worse when they just think they know it all from the beginning and refuse to take note of the stick shoved so far up their behind.
Loved the "Golf Clap" line too..haha
I agree, Brian. Originality and thinking out of the box is important to me and I have to like what I write otherwise what's the point. Btw, I don't always like what I write...
Lovely post Brian. I would like to believe that anyone can write poetry as long as it is written from the heart. Let our voices come out in the words, flowly lightly from our pen (or fingers).
See you around and have fun ~
adee, i hear you, me too...and i think that is okay...
heaven, i agree...anyone can...and i will be back, so see you soon!
Thanks Brian...it is one fight I KNOW how to do well.
this is great! Have a wonderful time in Baltimore with U2! Jealous!!! lol
WOW - sounds like a manifesto to me. Bravo!
This is exactly why your work has such a broad appeal, Brian. It speaks from your heart to ours. It is not delivered from on high. It is 'the breath we breathe'.
Thank you!
i agree. can't take arrogant people. your words rock...always! have a good trip to baltimore! a well deserved rest! :)
Yeah- I can get annoyed too! "Competitive
@#$%&* " -made me skip, scamper, duck, dive, leap, dash in another direction at
full speed...Do I dare take up space on the page, canvas, etc. ? -Of course! Sheer joy and fun, expression is good!
Enjoy your trip.
Thanks for this. I'm encouraged. Hey, are you and Bono friends? Enjoy your weekend in Bodymore, Murderland. :)
You are a poet whether you like it or not. Enjoy your mini vacation and I'll continue to enjoy your past poems.
"poetry is the breath breathed,
drop bled, or spoken by the broken,
pen in hand, laid open heart for the masses"
Oh. This.
This is exactly why I write, broken, bleeding...
here, here! Bukowski couldn't have said it better himself...thanks for the punch to the solar plexus this morning. have a nice trip...
the old adage rings true, those who can't do, criticize those who can.
if it's not an old adage, it should be!
enjoy your time away!

"poetry is the breath breathed,

Oh. This.
This is exactly why I write, broken, bleeding...
HFF: came to my email, but not here...weird...bloggers been wonky again this AM
Yes, the best stuff drips onto the page from cracked & broken fingers. You are a poet--and a teacher. Thanks.
Enjoy U2!
Yes, the best stuff drips onto the page from cracked & broken fingers. You are a poet--and a teacher. Thanks.
Enjoy U2!
As a veteran of many creative writing classes, I saute you and nod in agreement!
Yay! This is brilliant, I love it! :-)
say it loud man!!!
when i first started posting, I had one person tell me i didnt know what i was doing...I said, "Yes, you're right, i dont...and i dont claim to" :)
Amen!
=)
BTW, have a great trip, Brian! And a safe one.
=)
Great poem, Brian. Scathing in a way. Love the definition of poetry you hid in there. My neice lives in a high rise next to Anaheim stadium where U2 was last weekend. Said folks lined up days ahead of time. Should be fun--be safe.
I'm jealous seriously!! Give Bono my regards! Are all poets so far up their own arses they can't see daylight through their open mouths? Nah most of us are Human...I think :)
And not just poets either, Brian.
Have a great time hanging out.
Brian, I can't even explain to you how I love this. Awesome. I hope you have a great time, I love U2. :)
By the way I loved it all but how true, "see, poetry is the breath breathed, drop bled, or spoken by the broken....."
brilliant.
love it - I agree with you. So many 'great' poems I just don't get, they're too aloof. Have fun at U2 (I'm jealous!)
Have a blast!
Poetry, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If someone can take something from a poem and make it their own, that is a thing of beauty. And the poetry that comes from the bleeding heart is just as valid as the poetry that comes from the published hand. The heart doesn't have to belong to the exclusive poet's society, to pour out the beauty.
Love U2. Enjoy!
Well said....
Oh, how I feel this way. This is the very reason I stopped writing for awhile. I let elitists make me feel inferior when the truth is there is plenty of room for everyone. I am not going to be everyone's cup of tea, and that's okay. How boring if we were all the same.
Oh, and U2? I am jealous. I went through a time when they were the only band I would listen to. I still love, love, love them. You are going to have so much fun.
Hi! Brian...
Your words in your poem most definitely, are a true example Of, what is and isn't true about some people...only one word come to my mind...acceptance.
Thanks, for sharing!
deedee ;-D
"Wednesday morning I will be traveling to Baltimore to hang out with the guys from U2 at Ravens Stadium."
All I can say is...Wow!
When it comes to your trip Brian, once again Brian, all I can say is...Godspeed.
deedee ;-D
Brian, we got you on blast with this poem.. The arrogance of some hurts my heart. We all take from the table of poetic creativity, the collective, how dare us look down on another. Great blast my friend, great blast.
"see, poetry is the breath breathed,
drop bled, or spoken by the broken,
pen in hand, laid open heart for the
masses"
Bam! :D
Ahhhh. Guilty as charged. There is passion and there is craft. So easy to focus on one an not t'other.
Especially when one is having writer's block.
Mea Culpa.
Love this one Brian. Pretty damn sure most Poet Laureates would agree.
I'm not one for anybody who thinks they're better than anyone else for any reason, poetry or otherwise.
straight facts man. straight genius!
Can I just say 'very cool'..that's it..seriously cool...
Well spoken. I guess, since I write my poetry for myself, really, it doesn't matter too much to me what anyone thinks of it. What comes out of my mind is what is, it may not be brilliant but it's me.
A nice take!
Poetry for the elite seems like a myth to me, since great writes, themes that I remember are never about how beautiful that palace is, or how strong that person is, but about values, about the saga of many, of the ordinary. Only something understood by many, can impact many, I don't think sounding too smart is beneficial if it is not understood, however it may become a literary achievement, but was that the aim?
if i wouldn't write already, i would start today after reading this bri..and yes, YES...let us wet the sand boldly before the lions mouth - poetry is a raw and thrilling adventure for the brave and bleeding..and i couldn't care less if someone is published or not as long as he or she makes me laugh, cry, faint or climb the moon
...oh and wishing you a fantastic time at the U2 concert & travel safe..
LOL ARE U REFFERING TO MOI. HAHHA YOU ARE QUITE RIGHT MATE, SOME PEOPLE TAKE THINGS JUST A TAD TOO SERIOUS, WELL SAID ;)
If you are not a poet, I don't know who is. You make magic with your words - pure poetry no matter the form.
Have a great time Brian. Come back with some more brilliant words!
Wow Brian...."but a fist
punch to the solar plexus reflex-tion
of awe-areness---"
LOVE THIS...so glad I'm just a regular Mom who writes for joy...or you might not visit me any more!
wait...if I ever was good enough to publish, would you still write? (I don't expect a call:-)
I think that I shall Never see
A poet lovely as a tree!!
DAMN STRAIGHT!
A poem is what speaks to you.
I like to visit your site offen, Bri. Knock out punch of a poem.
Such wonderful words:
"poetry is the breath breathed,
drop bled, or spoken by the broken,
pen in hand, laid open heart for the masses"
I am speechless.
Ha, I love it! A great slap in the face to the cocksure. Powerful outro.
Amem on this!
Loved it!
Love U2, have a fantastic time!
Margie :)
wow Brian ~ always love your visit to my page so encouraging ~ this was so powerful and so right on the nail ~
''see'' ''poetry is the breath breathed'',
'drop bled', 'spoken by the broken',
pen in hand, 'laid open heart' ~ wide open and bare ~ Bravo ~
outstanding ~ ~ Lib ~
You go for it Brian....voice is voice and form is for wet concrete not words....never underestimate the power of any poets words...established or not...bkm
YOU catch your breath? It's me who needs to catch her breath after reading this.
Have a great time.
I love this! My favorite part:
"see, poetry is the breath breathed,
drop bled, or spoken by the broken,
pen in hand, laid open heart for the
masses, so Mr or Mrs 'Divine Gift'
to poetry, like Mr. T, "I pity the fool"
Pharisee can't clean her own cup, but
those that dare set themselves on fire,
unnoticed & don't care---"
Water off a ducks back and raspberry usually does the trick! Oldies but goodies. And sometimes a poem... :)
I just want to have this handy and give to the perched! I loved it all, the flow, the sentiment and the salty punch. Great write Brian! ~ Rose
All I can say is....THANK YOU! I'm one of those who just puts words to paper and attempts to label it a poem or prose, but yet, I feel insecure as other published or literarily educated people do the same. This encouraged me to continue, no matter what.
Have fun at the concert, how cool! Rock on :-)
wow...powerful.....rips apart the whole industry of arrogance.
Which is publishing.
Lady Nyo
"written in
ignorance as pure art, raw &
intense, lacking polish, but a fist
punch to the solar plexus reflex-tion

These are absolutely the best kind of poems.
Love the street rhythm of the poem, most suitable to deliver the message.
Wooooo Brian I want to stand up and applaud !! One for the common man - brilliant ! Steve
clapping...oh yeah, I know a few!
U2??? How cool is that? Enjoy!
O, Brian, I LOVE THIS POEM!!!
no nonsense from the lofty poet. Yes, keep us in balance and pee in front of the stone lions..that's what you were doing? If not, it fits! Love it!
"see, poetry is the breath breathed,
drop bled, or spoken by the broken,
pen in hand, laid open heart for the
masses,"
great stuff.
I tend to like what I like, for reasons of my own. I write what I write, same~same. Art is subjective, as it's appreciation. Success? Defined myriad ways. The old reprimand, "Judge not..." has not lost meaning or intent, has it?
This worked out really well, brian--sorted out into scathing short phrases with plenty of gutpunch. You know I like every line, but that 'yo DJ' cracked me completely up. I can see you waving the one finger flag. Way to hand it to them on a plate, dude.
As Marianne Moore said: "I, too, dislike it; there are things that are important beyond all this fiddle . . ."
http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/15654
This is clever, yet incisive. Knife sharp and aimed well.
I quite like this, Brian.
Ah, the Rev. Brian is preaching and I'm singing "AMEN!" again! Enjoy your trip. I went to college in Bal'mo'. Great Italian food in Little Italy. Great deli food at Attman's (don't walk there at night, though).
Wow! Some strong feelings...clearly spit out. One Stop seems such a friendly, kind place. Guess I'm a bit confused or just clueless. Have a great vacation and a rest.
I loved this even though I don't know what or who the prompt or prompter is... especially liked " poetry is the breath breathed, drop bled, or spoken by the broken, pen in hand, laid open heart for the masses". Right on and well said! Great title as well... :)
Big smiles for you today Brian. Forgive them, insecurity make people say such silly arrogant things. Purity of word is always, always more appetizing.
no wonder we feel good following YOU - no arrogance!
Aloha from Honolulu :)

I am with you on this message Brian--no matter what the discipline, the elitist annoys me as well.
Thinking about a line from the Replacements song I Hate Music:
"I hate my father
someday I won't"
It's the poetry from the streets - where it came from, and where it gets its strength and vitality.
I love it when you get all fired up. This is awesome. :)
Have a great trip!
Some of the best poems are by people that might not be considered serious poets, or who might not have considered themselves as such...Ogden Nash, Dr. Seuss. One of my favorite poems is by Chidiock Tichborne, written on the eve of his execution.
*fingers in mouth whistling*
Amen Brian! You meet these people in all walks of life but as I keep telling the kids, their arrogance is more a sign of their lack of self-confidence...
Enjoy your time away.
Bravo! Bravo!
Enjoy U2!
I agree!
I love this. One thing I hated about poetry classes in college were the critiques were always "it doesn't rhyme" or "it doesn't look like a poem". There are no limits in poetry and that's that!! Next time I get one of those comments I'll have to redirect them to your blog! ;)
Dang, well said! a bit serendipitous as I was reading Howl today, and then got email from someone quoting poetry from Bono. Enjoy the show, hope your retell in verse, ha!~
Fabulous write... though I favor form poetry when I write, I still love the raw energy of newer pieces and newbie pieces. Those who are elitist & arrogant (as you say) often are beyond my realm of desire with their words.
Absolutly loved this weeks contribution. When I first started posting stuff I was apprehensive of the feedback; now I just put it on paper and let the chips fall....
"you ain't more artiser than me." Ever heard that song by The Grouch? Yeah, your piece reminds me of that song...but in a more aggressive way ;)
Wonderful Brian! Enjoy your time with your boys & catch you on the flipside!
Felt the passion on this one! And yes being in the midst of discovering my poetic voice(eek, shut the front door)very aware of the strong, ooh call that poetry as I tend to form and story, which seems to be neither experimental enough or personal enough for some. But I am finding that reflecting on the scaffolding of a poem( its sounds, use of words, rhyme, rhythm etc)builds up the tools to draw on. However, I try and avoid the trap of manifesto poetry where by elitist righteous waits by assuming all rules are for breaking if it suits the poem!
Brian, I too dislike arrogance. I guess it must the lowest of all traits.;)
Enjoy your break and your trip dear friend.;))
xoxo
it's your voice and awesome..
Someone is Special
As much as poetry about poetry galls me, you have the skills to pull it off. On a more 'on topic' note - I don't necessarily agree that there's a poet living inside everyone, and there's a lot of stuff that's not worth reading out there as well.
Agreed! Your love of words and poetry compels you to make it accessible to all. And yes, arrogant elitists be damned.
Well said!!! poetry comes from the heart not the brain... raw and simple...'nuf ced!!!
ps - say hello to Bono for me ;)
Bravo Brian .. poetry is art & it is individualistic! It is an expression of one's thoughts, emotions, experiences & imaginings and your's I might add, is ALWAYS, wonderful!!
I agree wholeheartedly with what you've expressed in this wonderful piece Brian... I too struggle to understand the inflated egos & judgments of people like that.
awesome!!! I concur :)
You at U2? If there's not inspiration to be discovered there...I'd have to slap you! Ha! Brian, I LOVE this! Since jumping into this, I've met some pretty Big feeling folks who call THEMSELVES poets...mind you, they wouldn't call me that! And to be honest, if I need a dictionary to try to figure out the words your spitting...then I'm certainly not feeling them! Oops...I feel a rant coming on...Hope its a hell of a show! You go :)
Well said. Have a good time, I'll miss you, come back soon.
You would have fit right in with those early female poets who were ignored and could never get published.
Expressing how most of us feel I'm sure. Great write which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Nail on the head!
A wonderful piece and such wonderful comments! I love the "spoken by the broken" line. Get's me in the gut.
Wonderful, Brian! I could hear the beat as I read the words. Have fun in Baltimore.
This is Awesome!!! Facts, Rhythm, and just down right AMAZING!
Brilliant. Have a great time in Baltimore :)
Get a photo! And most importantly: have some fun!!! See you when you get back. No matter what you write, it is always you.
this was just awesome brian. very witty, wise and thoughtprovoking.
got that, I get it, have a ball!
I hear ya, B!! And am with ya too.. standing at the gates of the Coliseum.. SHOUTING!
Polish/no polish.. form/no form.. no worries.. I/we will write! :) Interestingly, that's EXACTLY what the name of my poetry blog suggests too.. hehe
LOVED this bold and heartfelt piece!
A perceptive and well written piece on the nature of academic arrogance.
Brian...this is exactly why I so very often just give up putting down what I feel on paper. Those that think there's only one way to skin a cat. Amen, Brother!
Brian... Being somewhat of a poet myself, I find that I agree wholeheartedly with what this is saying. Often, a poet thinks that because he or she can rhyme pretty words and paint pictures in someone's head that they are above those who cannot.
My strongest belief is that poetry is open to all who wish to create it. There is no one "proper" or "correct" form for poetry- Life itself is poetry, and life has no form. We live it how we chose... poetry is no different. My favorite kind of poems are the ones that happen by accident, from experience and laughter. While it is indeed an art, poetry is not exclusive.
-Magpie's Daughter
The emotion in this piece is so intense, and it touched me with your words.
To touch what lies beyond the words. THAT to me is great writing, great poetry.
You have arrived there Brian,
and I am thankful.
this. is. awesome.
"see, poetry is the breath breathed,
drop bled, or spoken by the broken,
pen in hand, laid open heart for the
masses..."
GREAT poem! I sometimes wonder if some of the poets that visit my site from the forums are poo-pooing my work behind my back saying stuff like that. I don't really care though. I love rhyme and don't give a hoot about form. So there! Take that "perfect" poets. :)
Brian, I love your poem (hehe...I meant 'word-lash') to bits!!! Every word says the reason why decades ago I stopped writing or trying to be publish my poetry. There was a cabal in my city who adhered to a form or license of their own and because I didn't belong to them and dared to write with my own voice, I was rejected. That fortified the myths I learned when studying poetry that you either have it or you don't and because my professors stuck to 'poetics' and 'literary criticism' which mouthed what others have said with no one encouraging us to try our voices and write on our own, I skidded down to the hell of public relations aka 'press releas-ing' and later to 'development communication' aka 'government propaganda'.
Thank God, a friend pushed me even as I kicked and cried,"No", to enroll in fiction writing classes in Manhattan where I got more bashing but some perceptive compassionate words from the instructors. Somehow, it felt like I wasn't dead. That was a decade ago. I persisted. And truly, it's here at OSP where I found and let go of 'my voice'.
Those you described exist like legions! We have to protect ourselves from their venom, and to know that they begin to spit it out with a spark of green in their eyes because they do know if you've it! But ...oh no, this is meant to be a comment, a superlative vote for this poem! Sorry for unleashing my own hurt!
And please, give my regards to Baltimore, the city I so miss. Please walk the Inner Harbor for me and say hello to the goslings, if they're still there! I know you'll have a wonderful time!
I won't say thank you for your unfailing 'shot of sushine' for me for my poem--thank you is too limited a word for what you do!
Brian,
True! the elitist tends to assume too much and would appear to be highly strung. I suppose it couldn't be avoided because a poet draws from his
personal experiences and 'entanglements' which might not be known to many.
Coincidence? I think not. 5 months ago I thought maybe I'd look for poetry blogs. OSP was the FIRST place I found and stayed. You all have given me nothing but encouragement. I laughed, I cried (hehe) Thank you. Brian, I hope you can feel me sending you a hug for this. (No golf claps for you!)
My heart overflows with a good theme, I address my verses to the King; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Psalm 45:1
I knew you'd get fed up with my elitism at some point. ;-)
Good poem, Brian.
"Standing O!" From someone who writes just as the pianist who plays by ear, I salute you Brian!
I found One Stop several months ago and you welcomed me me without any conditions...Recently, while I was feeling somewhat unsure about my writing skills, A good friend offered these words..."Have you ever stopped to think that more education might take away from your artistic form of expression? That is why your free form of writing is so unique and heartfelt." I was never taught how to write poetry, I just had to write...period.
Amazing....wonderful...love it! You out did yourself with this one....your voice was very powerful and very loud. I think all of us broken poets can and will agree with you words. I loved that passion I could feel in your words. Oh, the Mr. T quote was priceless! :)
Excellent imagery, as always!
As someone who's had a few things published -- but never a book -- I know that a lot of it comes down to luck. 8 million variables work for you, or against you each time. Most of what I've been paid for has been passable, while my best stuff hasn't been seen by most. No one has the right to feel superior, never mind act like they are.
And if "poetry" only means rhyming, we'd better start re-writing a lot of definitions...
Some of the most talented people aren't recognized until they're gone, and others? Never recognized at all.
Bravissimo!
Preach on bro Brian. Me being a ant in a world of giant talent can relate, but I say what I gotta say. And I always love what you gotta write, because it's always gonna be true. Blue ribbon NICE!!!
- tolerance is a hard thing to practice. I realized this week that I tend to write in form because I can place my emotions and thougths in neat little "boxes." I wouldn't call it ego for me - for me, it is an overwhelming fear of drowning in my emotions if I were to just let loose.
Insight is half the battle. The other half is change - so, I'm giving everyone fair warning because who knows what will end up on my blog now (smiles.)
Your post is encouraging and perfectly timed (because ya know, it is all about me - lol) have fun in baltimore
Very well said!
so true .... and so well said ... the best poems are from broken bleeding bottom of the heart ... and definitely not from the top / head ... love coming to your blog :)
zing
perhaps it is a kind of vigilance
i love the flavour and craft of words
and trying to express something nicely
perhaps it is just making sure that
it does not become a judgement of ourselves or others. poetry is an interesting journey.
It works for me. I like the gamiut of emotions in it...
a statement
Well said Brian. I've felt like this for some time myself. It's like someone tells you that you should never eat this or that, because he worked at a restaurant before.
Again well said, hope you enjoy U2. I've seen them 4 times, but not since Achtung Baby/zoo tv tours. They kind of outpriced me the last few times they've been near me. Let us know how the show was:)
Laser truth here, Brian. Touche. One of the reasons I got into poetry was to make it less ivory tower "arrogant" and more like the storytelling of the old troubadours from days of yore. I just love your in-you-face imagery here and elsewhere in your work.
Having been the brunt of the so-called "elites", I couldn't agree with you more.
Hope you have a fantastic time!
In my English Lit Survey class (which I took in summer so intense X 10), the professor was arrogant and a pervert.
Every poem had to combed for all sexual and penial innuendos.
On one particularly difficult poem, which had more allusions than original verse, I struggled and struggled until I finally got "the meaning." I questioned the professor why 16th century British poets had to write so hyper/secret code/ intellectually. He replied, "when you get it, doesn't it make you feel good about yourself to know you are one of smart people?"
I replied that I more or less felt pissed off that it took up so much of my time.
So,yes, I like real, hit you in the gut, art poetry.
I loved this... I would say you are a poet minus the arrogance. ;)
yeah I can't stand poets either , just a few exceptions ;-)
have fun at U2. I bet you think of me when you see the claw, haha
Have a good trip. You don't need to be constrained by being categorized.
i love this, Brian. and i know first-hand that education does not the poet make to you.
Haha! Confident and to the point- and so fucking right on! Love it. I am constantly receiving feedback from my university lecturers- the published poets- 'well James, you aren't really sticking to the correct format blah blah'. Bullshit!
Oh well!
I loved the theme- and that's an understatement.........
I have come across some arrogant ones who write 20 sentences in simple tense thinking that to be one hell of a poem! I already could match up your words for someone.
SMIRK!!!!!!!
This was sooooooooooo refreshing indeed. Bless their arrogance.
Hugs xox
this really has a punch, a populist, take it or leave it, here comes some science punch.
what a fab rallying cry.
i dig:)
I know I'm late commenting... but all I gotta say is... amen brotha, you always bring it and this is no exception. I think this has to be one of my favorite pieces that you have written. :)
Your work is like mine. I don't think any poetry has to rhyme at all and, don't write to any rules of literature either. When people talk about stanzas, and sonnets and all that stuff that goes by the poetry rules, I shiver.
I feel if I got taught how to do it, I would lose my way and it would'nt have the free flow it does now. But, I agree with you, on this, wholeheartedly.
I also agree that we have a multitude of tasks to do here before our time is done. My thinking was that some of us are content to do nothing to look for answers to their problems themselves and simply wait for God to do it for them. some muddled thinking, (like my mind) really.LOL
:) Long live poetical anarchy...LOLOL
Methinks we maybe starting a revolution..... ahah
Have a great weekend ~
