the cat purrs
as i lap
milk from her
bowl & scratches
my back as if
a post,
all because i fingered
her whisk-
ers. she walks
drunk & i laugh
cause i know
better, i will be
in bed for a week
at least.

I think I'm blushing.
;)
i AM blushing!
brian, what have you been up to??!!
lol!!
So, this was way naughty without being crass. So much better to dance around the subject (in my opinion), leaves more to the imagination. Perhaps I should have waited until later in the day to read this, though, lol...Well done :)
Fine, fine....I'll cut my fingernails....for you!! ;)
(I'm REALLY blushing too)
A different angle from Brian...
ollie, i so want to comment on your comment but i would get in so much trouble...
Cat scratch fever often has that effect, my friend.
Hah. Naughty Brian. So cute.
Hi! Brian...
Omg! am I from "naive-city" or What?...Now I get it and...No Comment...However, words that comes to my mind after reading your poem: Short,to the point, very well-written, descriptive, metaphor, cat, meow, and
Thank-you,
deedee ;-D
oh my...
:)
I will purposefully not leave a comment today. (smiles)
I love kitties! My guy just jumped up and is helping me on the computer.
*scratches head*
How do I comment on this one?
Well done, sir.
No words to state here..
I'm not just blushing...I think I've fainted. :)
I think I just watched this episode of SITC. :)
Oh god, it made me miss my guy all the more. You are perfect with words.
Kudos!
Right on!
Such dirty minds....all for a piece written about a kitten.
I'm fanning myself.
excellent double entendre!
And that's EXACTLY why I need a kitty-cat!
hahaha did #99 inspire this one
oh I'll just nod and be done
As I wouldn't want to have too much fun
For my dirty mind one might shun
Of course not you
As this proves just from a view
lol, NICE!
Oh my! I don't think my literal mind quite understood this one, Brian. Going off to hide somewhere...
(giggle) You always surprise.
euhhhh
ok...don't know what to say on that :D
It seems the cat's out of the bag.
Hum don't know if my mind is in the gutter or should I be blushing too.
This is so good. I guess I've joined the rank of the naive, too. When I saw other comments had to go back and reread. Wonderful indirect eroticism. I love it!
:-)))))
Nice job, Brian.
Enjoy, jj
Yes, well. . . very nicely done. ::))
:)
BLUSHING, LOL, its the most natural thing in the world, lol great post mate..
Oh, my!
My... My... My!! (purrr) tee! he! he!
Oh my! Well done...
You had it coming!
Hmmmmm, I wonder if a piece about kittens could be considered graphic and lewd???? ;)
Fabulous!
Meee-YOW!
Just in case I haven't said it recently...in my next life, I am definitely marrying a poet. :)
hehehehe
It all comes back to that box!
(giggle) thinking of the various nursery rhymes I could quote here . . . but won't. And then I thought of the Governator and what he is alleged to have said about why he likes Mexican women. And then ... but no.
Gee golly!
Margie :):)
Oh, my!!! :D
Just a week?
purrr-fect
(sorry, but i have to join in the sillies here) ;P
Well... OK! Not sure how to comment but I hope you have a really great WEEK.
Hmmm. Cats make for such nice company, eh?
Wondering what the other pet names are, and if we will see poems written about them. :D
Though seriously, enjoyed the metaphor and the playful nature of this. Excellent work!
Wow, Brian, you naughty boy! ♥
Good for you Brian, a post to my liking totally.;)) Hehe, I can so relate.;))
Have a great day dear friend,
xoxo
No comment!!!!!!
this leaves me feeling a bit drunk..and smiling...love your wife's comment..
One week?? Now what have you done?? Ha!
Hugs
SueAnn
very clever!
um....i should go back and look at the comments you've made on some of my posts to see how to be clever... oh! i just thought of something but i'm gonna be good and not say it. {giggle}
ok I love your cat moments lol oh geesh
Whoooeee you are a clever boy!
WHOAHHHHH! :) - so clever
So sexy Brian!
Oh! uuummmmmmm........ smiles.
I am so a-mewed. And Rosaria's comment totally made me laugh.
I love the duality in that. There's nothing more grateful that a satisfied cat. Just sayin' :)
ouch!
so you were being naughty? thanks for the beautiful covering, i did not get the naughty part, and dont want to. loved it as the real cat's actions. :)
Oh my goodness, lol!
Seriously, if I hadn't read some of the comments, I would have thought this was about a cat, although I was puzzled indeed as to why you were lapping from a cat bowl. Sigh. Guess I don't read between the lines too well.
Thank you for this, Brian. I took it in a different vein of thought because of personal issues! Sweet Feather, our 15+ year old white cat, has gone downhill rapidly this week with another bout of "megacolon," in spite of twice-daily meds and an at-home enema. I am taking her for treatment today, as I am flying to MN for a family reunion on Saturday and my husband has all our pets to care for while I'm gone. I hope they can ease this round and provide her with more comfortable days/weeks/months...I want to see her walk drunk from catnip again; I want to take many more catnaps with her (though not for a week's length of time!).
i really have no clue what all these people are thinking....smiles.
so glad i clicked through here...
this is wonderfully written and since it's my, ahem, first time to your blog, this is the poem i'm likely to most remember... haha
it was as much fun reading the comments as the poem, and i think it's awesome that you write poetry for your wife and that she reads it and comments on it too...
thank you for sharing!
Oh Brian! You are such a naughty boy.....but I loved it !
Read this a few times, changed the context, and then I ALMOST blushed. :)
:)
Somehow I get the feeling if you were writing this about your dog...it wouldn't be quite the same! ;)
Your wife is one lucky lady!
lol...you are so worth coming back to read mister brian....
this was absolutely a delicious read....
am sowwy....*makes innocent face....for being away..got involved in a few causes and being the perfectionist that i am...i suck at multi-tasking....
no poet or writer can ever feel like a stranger...we all bare too much of ourselves in our writings....xoxox
Okay, I like it when the cat purrs too.
