why wheelbarrows have two handles

i piled all my dreams in a wheelbarrow,
the big flat bottomed kind you use to mix mortar,
higher and higher til they scraped the sky,

& i tried to lift them, but they were
far too heavy to carry
on my own, tottering and teetering,
threatening to fall down around me

so i went off to find you
cause wheelbarrows have two handles
for a reason.

So maybe that is a bit of fuzzy logic, but today is our fifteen year wedding anniversary. And I let her put a few things in the wheelbarrow too. Smiles. Love you Baba.

Happy Anniversary to you and your wife, Brian.

It's good to be equally yoked, especially to a wheelbarrow filled with both of your dreams.

=)

I think this is a perfect description of life together with the one you love who loves you as well. We weren't meant to go it alone, and marriage is not for the faint of heart.

We will hit 14 years in August. Congratulations! Celebration is definitely in order. Have some fun!

:)

Happy Anniversary to you and your wife, Brian.Your poem is lovely and I totally get your smiles re the few things she added to the dream load - been there for sure.

Here are the first lines of the "love poem" you called for the other day. It is still in rough draft but my 46th anniversary is coming up on May 29th so I hope to finish it by then. Congratulations!

Goodnight My Love –
always the last song.
I’ll never forget.
My young prince,
cologne, and herringbone rough on the cheek
of a princess afloat on strong arms,
drowning in eyes of aquamarine.

I'm glad our eyes first locked those many years ago on a snowy night...thanks for this sweet poem. I've seen many of our dreams come true and many more still to achieve together- lifting our wheelbarrow. Happy Anniversary - I love you forever and always - Tara

Fuzzy on the physics...but romantically sweet anyway.

Happy Anniversary, son. Lifting that wheelbarrow together has gotten your dad and I through almost 43 years. Sometimes it heavier than other times but always easier when both are lifting together. Loved your poem and am sure Tara did also. Proud of you, our family poet.

Ahhh, the marriage that lasts. The exception rather than the rule these days. May you be blessed to enjoy each other threefold as long.

Two people each making small sacrifices everyday day, gifts neither expected nor demanded. Sah-weet!

Congrats on 15 years - such a wonderful accomplishment and a testimony of your love and patience.

I love the connection of love and a wheelbarrow. Sometimes my sorrows are so heavy, I need help with mine. And sometimes the happiness is so overwhelming, I wish someone would help with that "burden." :)

Happy Anniversary Brian. Our baby girl was due today but she decided to take her sweet time so I guess we will have to wait a day or two. Your wife must be so happy with your tribute to her and the fifteen years you have spent together, hand-in-hand on that wheel barrow. And lucky for you that she came along and helped you with that pile of dreams. It takes two.

You have had your greeting card moment! This is kitten soft and warm...with a balloon and lollypop in his paws. BUT...this is a greeting card moment I would sell my soul to have! You have masterfully kept your wittiness about you, your style and flare, and even though this is obviously a Brian Miller original work...I think it's the sweetest I've yet to read...too cute, poet :)

Happy Anniversary to you both. May your wheelbarrow never tip over and all your waste be composted.

(but if it were a real wheelbarrow--just take turns, buddy--two people pushing it will give you both a hernia. ;_))
