Thank You
This is an acrylic painting I did recently. First one in around 20 years. Had fun experimenting with textures and have another that I am playing with as well.
I wanted to thank those that voted for Onestoppoetry in #art for the Shorty Awards. We are a finalist, so I will be traveling to NYC in March for the awards presentation. Can't wait to go back to the city and get a chance to meet some great friends for the first time. This would not be possible without those that voted, so I sincerely and humbly thank you.
No fancy words today, but if you came looking for poetry or some great writing a few I have thoroughly enjoyed recently are:
Ami Mattison
Shay
Hedgewitch
I could list many, and know if you stop by my place and leave your mark, I appreciate you. This journey would be a lot less enjoyable without you.
I hope you have an incredible Saturday!

love the painting, it makes me want to finish the one I have been struggling with for a long time...but then again it will finish when it is ready
happy weekend
I have to tell you, I didn't have 'expectations'. I do picture framing and a lot of people 'paint'. I'm surprised by HOW WELL DONE this is. And, of course, everything you do, comes from the heart - so that makes it 'art' anyway. But the light and depth and movement are just amazingly wonderful. The painting is alive! Wish you were in Sarasota, so I could frame it!
You are just brimming with talent!
hey you are coming to my neck of the woods! Congratulations!!! awesome....your art and words are always one of my favorite stops in the blog world! xo have a great weekend!

And how multi-talented you are! This painting totally rocks. I'm diggin' the textures a lot, and I'm especially enamored by that yellow.
Thanks for the link love, my friend! I appreciate your support.
I don't come by for poetry, per se. I don't come by any blog so much for the content as for what that content reflects about the blogger.
And congratulations.
I love your painting! I really enjoy it when you share your art as well as your words, my friend.
Wow, could I be in any better company than Hedgewitch and Ami Mattison? Thank you! :-)
I love the color and texture of the painting, Brian.

I can't think of a site that deserves the award more, or anyone more fitting to go hang out in NY. Many gratz. Also, thanks for slipping me into the same sentence as two of the best poets out there, Shay and Mattison.
The painting is really cool, too--in fact that's what I started to write about before being distracted by words. Really like it. You have all kinds of the talents, young man.
That is beautiful.

Congratulations to you, Brian. You are SO deserving of it!
woot woot WOOT!! I'm so excited for you. (And the others.)
Brian. I cannot get enough of abstract art. Is there something you cannot do? Cooking? Basket Weaving? Stamp Collecting? (Does anyone still collect stamps? hmmm)
The art is so fun and fresh. I am trying to learn to paint, have an art blog as well. Maybe I need to do one of these and "loosen" up. It would be fun to read a poem and then just paint the colors and brush strokes and see what kind of contemporary piece I get. Thanks for the idea! And congrats on NYC!! One Stop is my favorite poetry site for learning!
YEEHAW BRIAN!!!!!
I just KNEW you would do well.
I love the painting!
