[cries in the night]
the next day i find her
up a tree
about forty feet
[knock, knock]
"yes, she's been
up there three days"
a young guy says,
"figgered she'd find
her way eventually"
so up the tree
i go
hoping no one
waits three days
if they hear my

Awww...you're a softie even for the four legged needy? They can't always get down...that's why people call the fire department....or Brian Miller. ha.
Oh I totally like how you brought it back around. Excellent use of 55 words!
If I hear ya, I won't make you wait.
Great 55 and the G-man comic book rocks!
I'd investigate long before that!
another great one...
I would certainly hope you would not be stuck up there that long.......
Thank you for rescuing the kitty....guess you knew I wasn't coming inside until she was out of that tree and no longer crying her sad little cry. - you're my hero ;)
Oh this is so sweet!
poor kitty meow
I always knew you were a softie! You really ARE a Super Hero!
loved this.
Interestingly enough, I just watched Secretary the other day. There's just something about the three day vigil.
O.K., I totally did not get this one until I looked at the comments. Ugh, must be getting sleepy now that the sun has gone down. I tain't as young as I used to be.
Son....
You just made my day!
It's very flattering that you take some time out of your hectec life to give ole G-Man a little thought.
Great 55 Brian.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End...G
Aww add Kitty Rescuer to your many talents.
Cat rescuer now, huh? Quite a resume you've got going on there, my friend.
Hmmm... I think the next series of comic books will be called G-Man and his trusty sidekick, Brian "The Renaissance Man" Miller. :)
Awww! Good on you, Brian!
We had to rescue a treed cat in the middle of a snowstorm in the middle of the night. A pain but worth it.
I'm sure someone would come looking for you long before then.
*meow*
Oh, SUPER COOL! Way to suck up to the G-Man dude!
but your own super hero-ness just shines through and makes it all good and right with the world :)
So there is a superhero named G-Man? That's my son's nickname! And I like the cat-caught-in-a-tree poem. Good point, and I would feel the same way (though my husband probably would not.)
Wow Bri nice comic
Poor kitty
Awww. I like this.
I'm an old softie for cats. :)
Mine are both indoors all the time, so I've never had to worry about them getting stuck in a tree.
The downside is that one of them loves to barf on the carpet.
Neat comic book! What a great find!
Thanks for doing Friday 55 this week.
Mine's here. :)
You save so many people in so many ways that it doesn't surprise me it extends to animals too...Have a great weekend....
Now we have to add "cat-saver" to your list of talents??? Is there no end?
Cool find! Oh yeah, get that cat, please!
this is so cute...
lovely :)
You are a good guy and is was a good 55. Thanks, jj
Three days? Poor kitty! Glad you came to the rescue! That was a cool find on the G Man comic!
So sad to be left in the top of a tree, feeling desperate and unable to get help.
ps. Fantastic 55.
that is so sad...poor kitty (I assume)and the book you found - that is incredible! 55? really?
Aw - what a sweet story!
me too...glad you climbed the tree.
Why do everyone assume it is a cat up that tree.;))
I agree with you - I guess we all yearn to be rescued right away.;)
Have a great Friday dear Brian and enjoy that heat, here we are back in deep freeze.
xoxo
really cooool!
You always surprise me with how many twists and turns you can fit into 55 words.
''hoping no one, waits three days
if they hear my, cries in the night''
I hope so too Brian..
Good, focused read, great use of patois. :)
Hope you got the kitty down, that is a great find, and with the 5-5 couldn't be sweeter, At first I thought it was one of your art pieces.----
catchy 55 ,
have a great week end send some warm sun rays out to the PNW.
joanny
Oh Brian ... you're a sweety & I'm certain the fretting fury feline felt just the same!! You hero you!!
Great 55 as per usual!
A great circular 55. Nice one.
A touching piece, Brian. Loved it.
Great work, again.
Let me know when you back down...
Oh, the cries in the night and the deafened ears. Fiction and reality look alike at times.
Kitty cat? I used to love climbing trees as a kid, but I certainly did not stay up them three days. The growling of my stomach for food took the best of me. Blessings.
Love it Brian! Aww look a G-Man, I always knew he was a super hero lol
Exactly. Three darn days. We can respond to the needs of each other on day one. I wouldn't want to be that cat who lives with that guy.
3 days? poor little kitty(?). we'd worry if you were missing for three days! enjoy your friday. xo
I too hope someone hears your cries in WAY less than three days...but then again what were you doing up a tree?... Great way to honor The G-man.
Uh hey Brian...you did use a ladder to clim that tree right? And G-man has always been a super hero I bet if he looked through his ju...errr retro stuff he could find every issue of that comic.
Thank you Brian. You are my hero.
Oh, who could leave a kitty in a tree for three days?
ok...man or beast here?...the thoughts of care forgotten held this either way
Peace, hp
good one brian. splendid piece.
Wow! Are you Keith Stone? You're always smooth...
;-)
''hoping no one, waits three days
if they hear my, cries in the night''
I hope so too Brian..
uhh..this was me. Had forgotten to sign in :)
How could no-one help her? So glad you found her Brian.
The G-man comic is awesome - he could use it as his blog header!
Yes, hoping my cries are heard within ten minutes! That's the reason I never go up a tree anymore.
Oh! boy! But the view on the top is fab, by Jove. As I read this, I think of a girl who was on top of a redwood tree to protest the cutting down of that tree. I forget her name but you can google it.
Joy always and have a kickass weekend.
~Susan
sounds like a fabulous view mate, take care..
Striking, brian. One of your most speaking tales--says way more than it appears to. And the pic is a classic. Excellent 55.
ha - long live g-man..very cool..
i hate to say this, but your 55 made me almost cry...well...almost...still fighting...will win...
such a lot of people on those trees and very few seem to care..
A wonderful exercise. You succeeded! Beautifully told.
LOL Thanks for the laugh! That was fantastic.
Awwww. That's so sweet! Hope the rescue was successful.
I tawt I tawt a putty-tat... I did, I diiiid tee a putty-tat!
Superheros come in all shapes and sizes don't they?
ツ my cyber house rules
Ah! That could be none other than a kitty!
Watch while you rescue her! She has claws!
That tribute to G Man is Classic! :D
I love this one, Brian!
HA! Great 55-worder.
You know, I had an indoor cat who got out and was stuck up in a tree for 3 days. We had put out posters for her all over the 'hood, and finally a neighbor called and said this cat out back might be yours. We went over and sure enough, it was Pfatty cat, and it took us ALL TOGETHER another 3 hours to get her down. When I finally got hold of her, she went completely limp in my arms. Poor thing was exhausted!
Oh, you softie!! I, too, hope someone hears my cries in the night and cares.
Great 55. The G-man is a goat. I wonder if it is an old goat.
Sweet story. The end is my favorite.
:)
one of kitties, years ago was found by her crying through the night. It was cold, rainy, October and we lived in an apartment in South Jersey. I heard this tiny mewing voice and would go out looking but couldn't find her. In the morning I finally located the sound. She was tucked inside the engine of a neighbor's pick up truck. The guy comes out all nasty, "HEY what are you doin' there lookin' under MY truck????" So I explained that there was a kitten inside. As he pops the hood, calming down he tells me "yeah, I saw a kitten climbin' around the truck last night when I was at a friends farm." Poor Ginger, she had amazingly hitch-hiked as a stow away in the engine. Her tiny paws were burned and she was barely old enough to have been weened. She came to live with us for 16 loving years before cancer took her away.
ooooh a kitten in a tree, you're a hero ;)
Maybe I read too much into things but I find this sad actually...because when we know someone is hurting, needing, fearful, in some sort of pain we do often wait (for longer than three days) thinking they'll find their way out eventually. It makes us uncomfortable so we leave it be...
I know it was about a cat but I think it applies to the way we treat people too.:)
Poor Miko...she who has lived in many states and even fought alligators needed a helping hand....or was it another kitty?
no colleen you are spot on...
*meow!*
Sorry, I couldn't resit. Well, I probably could have, but didn't. ;)
Love your 55 as always! :)
:)
hmmm... Can I have your cell phone number? We have two dumb cats...
I loved your gift to G-man! LOL
Aww .. super sweet of you ! how can some one leave any lost creature up there alone !
well yes they deserve an admonition!
good one thanks!
Good thing you all came along...poor little thing!
Love that last line!
My confession is that although I would help you out of the tree (or whatever) cats aren't my favorite critters. Goes back to Grandma's old Siamese who hated EVERYONE but her. :)
That would just break my heart...knowing they were up there that long!!
Perfect!
Hugs
SueAnn
I am glad that you saved the furry friend.
Hi! Brian...
"the next day i find her
up a tree
about forty feet"
After reading these twelve words I immediately, though Of a cat...Brian, to the ..."rescue!"
What a nice use of 55 words...Thanks, Brian,
DeeDee ;-D
so much tenderness-would expect nothing less. For all the people everywhere, crying down from their personal trees...
no comment on the comic. me no understand. :)
Now Brian, why would you be up a tree for 3 days? I've been up a creek for that long. :-)
