160 - surgeon general, save me
drunk again
bottle bedded
next to me
following its curves
room spins
there really
should be a
warning label
on your body
consume too
much and...
and...
and...
What can you say in 160 characters? Say it, then tell Monkey Man.
The incredible painting was done by Michelle Rummel at Shellartistree, a friend, beautiful artist and a poet. Thank you for allowing me to write about your art.
There is also this incredible photo prompt over at One Stop Poetry for One Shoot Sunday.

And...? Yes, Brian?
He's out of it, lol.
PS--UNO!!!
True.
Beautiful :-)
I don't believe for a minute that you want to be saved!
Probably very appropriate for Super Bowl Sunday.
Loved your 160 and you body painting!
..and...i think that's a nice way to get drunk...maybe even better than getting drunk on poetry...smiles
Nicely written 160 to a lovely painting.
Oh yes...not a stranger to this feeling!
Great artwork Brian, and a lovely little flash of words to go with it.
omg, too painful to contemplate! excellent art makes me feel better.
Lovely, lovely picture, Brian. Heehee I wish I knew what came after the and...
...
Like the "and" ending!
let it grow big
wow all i could think of is 'souplesse'
Good pairing today. The big question is ... and?
A joy to behold her painting.
LOVE the poem!!
xo
Great combo of poetry and paint.
A sad state for the woman
Happy Sunday Bri
I know far too much about bedding bottles, spinning rooms, and women who lack warning labels! Great write!
nice piece and art, just gotta love the art
A good choice of art too, is it just me or is that house spinning?
You weave such beautiful tapestries with your words! Lovely.
*hic*
:)
poor guy :)
i have my wholehearted sympathy for him.
both of the pix are fantastic.
oh............wow!
even I can just say a WOW! it is a pleasure reading your verse.
Have to agree with the point--all the most dangerous things are unlabeled by nature. Lovely painting, and excellent poem.
I bet the hangover from that is much more enjoyable than the one I have this morning!! :)
I like the inspiration you drew from the image. It is so interesting to see what people feel and see when gazing at a picture.
Hope you are having a lovely Sunday,
xoxo
Thank you Brian, for honoring me/my art with your graceful words and evocative prose...and my gratitude to all, for kind words about my painting. You've truly made my day...

Great work Brian!Great drawing! Also an amazing painting from the other artist!Viva Artists!Oh and what btw?Lol
Great Sunday 160, Brian, and thanks for sharing that beautiful image. I am loving how you have pulled together images and 160's of late.
great words my friend, and thanx for the intro to the artist, always on the look out for great art :)
and?
Nice 160..senses reeling under it still...
:)
Amazing painting, your friend is so very talented!!
And I love the use of "and" at the end of your poem, it spurs thought and a sense of "and now what" in my mind.
Here's mine:

so, do you ever think you will put all these amazing works together in a book? I'd buy it for sure!!!
A body could end up married that way.
It's never good when you're that far gone.
and .......... warning label. No one heeds the warning label!
How do you do it? weave poetry, objects into real life and make art out of it?
I don't know. But I love it!
That painting is amazing. As always the words are well written!
yes, my friend a warning would have been nice but I doubt I would have listened to it anyway....love the picture too and just have to say it one more time "GO PACK GO!!!!!" :)
Gracious me..what more to add. Sensuous, curvaceous and luscious perhaps. We know what lies beyond the ?? Good work. Gay
Just reading that make me queasy!
Poetry and paint flowing into an 'and' that leaves me breathless...
Omg, she is amazingly talented!
I wish I could see that painting UP CLOSE and PERSONAL. It has a lot of layers in it.
Oh, the repercussions of consuming too much...
And ????
Great 160 but would love to know what comes after that!!!
Sorry I've not been by in a while Brian and would like to thank you for your comforting words of support on my blog over the last month. :)
No AA for you, I suspect...
;)
Truth. Blessings.
about the warning label, I don't know - can there ever be too much of that? great 160!
I've just ventured out and opened a blog for my fiction pieces, to share just a little. Bleeding alone sucks.
I love what you did here.
There really should be a warning label... Love your creative 160--wonderful.
Lovely sensual painting too.
surgeon general? you mean love doctor? lol
An incompleted moment captured for our imaginations to complete, Wonderful painting as well...soft, sensual, sultry, and...and....I'm thirsty :)
Yes, a warning label, some bodies should indeed have one.....nice writing Brian...bkm
Great ending ;-)
Loved this poem and the artwork too.
Cheers, jj
Uh oh. Down for the count. An absolutely stunning picture. No doubt it captured your eye & spun a story.
following its curves... love this. reminds me of bottle and body... and i LOVE the painting. exquisite.
The painting and photo are fabulous!
I'm so glad those youthful years (many many many years ago now) of experimenting with drink are OVER!
Perfect non-ending.
the best intoxication...
Yea, I agree with Bonnie. I don't see you signing up for any twelve step program anytime soon. Go ahead, indulge a little. :)
Beautiful painting & poem. And yes, our bodies need many warning labels -- for us and others to read.
You said so much in so few words. Remebering some "room spins" in my own life. And...
160 characters and the message is clear...
it goes wrong already at the word "again"
And the warning label should be real short too!! lest the consumer just fade away to "glory" before even completing the sentence :)
Good one, Brian! Message perfectly conveyed!! :)
It's a long time since I've felt the wrath of alcohol, I'm tee-total!
CJ xx
for the record its been a long time for me as well...and glad they are well behind me as well...its the metaphor...
How much is too much and why bring the surgeon general in when you're getting drunk with her laying next to you?
And...and...and...well said! Room spinning and all!!
Hugs
SueAnn
beautiful poem Brian.
Wow, those paintings are just fabulous! Love your 160 Brian, again.
Warning label is a good idea! But you are filled with good ideas! I never know what I will find when I come.
Lol... I can relate to this one.. That art is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, do I remember those days. So glad they are over!!
Great poem!
I love the painting and the sensuality of your words. But oh so true - intoxicating beauty of any kind has no warning label.
clever as well as apt.
Happily, it's been many years since I was intimately acquainted with this scenario!
lovely painting adn wise words of warning.
i'm curious how that label might read and what a poem it might make...
lovely verse.
I suspect even with warning labels right on our bodies, most of us would ignore them. I know I would.
Cool. Open ended poetry... fill in the blanks. So, how does the surgeon general save the desperate man?
The photo? I could eat it up.
I KNOW! THere should be something that screams stop! I mean, other than puking.
I have been drunk on such powerful stuff.
Lovely and cute, but more so because as I read your 160 and type this, my little boy is lying asleep next to me clutching his little empty milk bottle. :)
Perfect
