unclean, unclean
i scream
giving fair warning
when i come across beauty
so my eyes may not
defile it in the looking
though i find myself
peeking between fingers
just to catch a glimpse
strike me blind if you must
i can not resist
stops along the journey

isn't that just too human, looking for that which may defile the beauty, instead of soaking it in...
beautiful Brian...another masterpiece
Who would consider this to be pure temptation?
eye candy to me my friend :)
Great! Calls to mind so many interpretations.
who can resist true beauty anyway...xo
peek, before it slips through the cracks.
but then, there is always beauty,
even when we choose not to see it.
i find myself peeking between fingers
just to catch a glimpse...........lovely!
Who can resist beauty?
Unclean and scream, nice!
peeking between fingers ..... love it
a sweetheart on a salty sidewalk
hmmm....yeah it's possible
;)
temtation in its truest form...brilliant piece dude;)
Lovely.
Hi Brian,
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Behold, yon is a beautiful story and if I cover my eyes then I will never read it and see it in my mind.
Life is beautiful, so get out there and see the wondrous things God has blessed us with in great abundance, the most precious being the laughter of a child. I cannot think of anything more beautiful.
God bless.
haha, I fear you will not go blind from a glance on beauty's facade. True beauty lies on the inside, as well you know. Its heart beats for lovers and God.
That's being human: this curiosity of ours! Lovely writing.
Dang, it's just so sweet.
I would say that you just created some of that beauty yourself, and I am happy to be peeking through my fingers at it this morning.
=)
Beauty at it best, your words create images beyond the image, a love for writing and sharing.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and if that is you then you are beautiful too because when we are beautiful inside we find everyone and everything around us pleasing..beautiful.
One needs to stop peeking at beauty through fingers and just soak it all in while one can!
I like it.
The skeptic in me must say though that it may be beautiful on the OUTSIDE but what lurks inside????
lol... hmmm hope it's truly as beautiful as it seems
Nice one Brian..beautiful.
You have to look!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, however not everyone can see it...nice :)
we can't help but want to see His beauty
read it several times now and think i would interpret it in two different ways - know the feeling well - both of what i would read into it. i like!
I love this. :)
There are somethings that are burned into your eyes, beautiful and ugly alike.
that is so true; so how some people feel - unworthy.
ha! sounds like the results of my Catholic upbringing!
I echo Nessa: it's in believing whether or not we are worthy to be in the company of such beauty.
Sheesh, there are so many comments I'm just going to put one here and not read the others. I love the picture, the poem, and the sentiment is very provocative.
Now, I'll be struck dumb! Nobody has ever said such things. Shadow thinks it's human; I think it is so endearingingly humble, sweet, I'm not worthy to look upon you, dear one.
Lovely, Brian.
nicely done - as usual...
I don't believe beauty loses anything in sharing itself. Enjoy!
Yes. . . what Magpie said.
I like the peeking between fingers. Usually, for me, that's at something horrific - a horror flick or a terrible accident. The beauty? That was a neat thing.
Love it. Beautiful!
Love the lighthearted earnestness.
Hi! Brian...
Once again...What a nice use Of words in your beautiful poetry. Brian, the photograph look like a piece Of candy on a bricked street...No?
Thanks, for sharing!
DeeDee ;-D
I'm liking this one a lot. Thanks, jj
So powerful, so evocative, so true - I know exactly what you mean...
Beautiful as always dear Brian,
xoxo
Why do you not have a book?
Short yet so beautifully written :)
Who decides what is beauty for the other person? A pure heart behind the eyes can see beauty in the rarest of places.
wow... just wow
You've got a way with words.
This one is wonderful :)
God brian you made me laugh out loud. its cute to the power infinity :)

If we didn't look, would it be less beautiful? Nope. The looking gives it value.
Children would probably have no gumption about picking it up to eat.
Wonderfully descriptive predicament!

Nuts in May
The beauty in the world shouldn't be avoided.
This really, really speaks to me. You have such insight that sometimes all I can do is shake my head in acknowledgement. You are a master of deeper feeling!
oooh! i love this!
Feeling unworthy to view the beauty. In life? Will the beauty be less beautiful?
It is hard not to look, isn't it?
unclean? that's not much self-confidence isn't it?
did I detect a bit of flirting with words that almost RHYME? hmmm....fun write, enjoyed this one:)
this is very compelling in fact and isn;t that the issue? Look but don;t taste and all that? you have such a way with words.
