tucked into bed
behind its sun blanket,
warm wishes placed
on it's head with a kiss,
i greet this thank-filled day
of hustle bustle family
food frenzy, with thoughts
of you, & the origin
of all of these...

My dad passed away ten years ago on thanksgiving day...so it is a bittersweet holiday for us, still.
Although he loved food and if he had his choice it would have been AFTER the meal. LOL
