steam.
she slips
the edge of my cup
dancing across my lips
& every tried touch
leaves wet, my finger tips
deep/rich
inhaling between sips
such sweet
obsession.
So, I have been MIA for a few days and feeling the withdrawals so posting a little early for these. My 160, linking up with Monkey Man and a simple (not my best) painting for my friends at Sunday Sketches. Figured it's cold outside, most places, so something a little HOT might be good...coffee....

There's far more than coffee that's hot about this post! I like the sketch. Simple fun.
gotta love that seductive steam!!! (smiles)
I just love how you are blending your Sunday Sketch and the Sunday 160. Great post, B. I will be up with my 160 one minute after midnight tonight.

Brilliant....coffee is good, as you know from my potluck...lol
Nice! I've always loved brown and blue together. And you know I love coffee. Drinking a cup is quite an intimate experience and you've captured that with your steam. :)
Hope you are well rested and full of turkey!
This made me warm! I also enjoyed the "ugly truth". Gave me reassurance!

Hi Brian,
Lovely description of steam.
There is nothing like a steaming cup of coffee on a cold day with its aroma spreading all around the room, caressing, touching, going through our nostrils reaching the brain, giving us a heady, dizzy ecstatic sense of happiness and joy.
Great painting inspiring me to imagine a hot cup of coffee with steam rising up on a cold day, surrounding and serenading me with its tender, magical touch and evaporating in the thin air to be lost forever and just leaving a stunning deep memory that lingers on in my mind hauntingly for a long time to come taking my breath away.
Best wishes,
Joseph
With the temps plummeting I find myself grabbing a cuppa more and more often. Nothing like it!

Is that coffee or hot chocolate Brian? Either way....perfect little poem!
Great combo of written word and image. The colors are great in your Sunday Sketch! Very steamy indeed.
You know...you could sell these sketches with the accompanied prose. I'd buy one!
I have a coffee-obsessed man sitting next to me - best not let him see this or he'll be nagging for another cup!

Brian said,"(not my best) painting for my friends at Sunday Sketches."
Hi! Brian...
I'am an artist and I really like this painting because you have captured the warmth and colour of coffee in the cup...and the "taste" of coffee too in your poem.
