pumpkins here
pumpkins there
pumpkins flying
through the air
is it
the Great Pumpkin
come to bring fun
or little boys
in big bodies
& a giant toy gun?

What can you say in 160 characters? Go see Monkey Man.
Spent the day at the pumpkin patch with the family. If you enlarge the first photo, that is no the moon in the sky, but my pumpkin traveling 225 feet though the air. I figure, I helped it accomplish a latent dream of flying, but we really have to work on the landing.
And just for fun, Mami shows us whats happening today.
Have a great Sunday everyone!

I heard it was Charlie's birthday too.
We have never been to the pumpkin patch here. That looks like fun shooting a pumpkin in the air like that.

--Someone Is Special--
Oh very good 160, looks like great fun, that's one impressive flying pumpkin!
... and no we don't have (had to google it) Bengay LOL
Hi! Brian...
The Pumpkin Blaster...What a nice little rhyme and great use of 160 words too!
(What a nice way to spend an autumn with your family too!)
Thanks, for sharing!
DeeDee ;-o
Dorothy did the work well, I reckon. I did enlarge the picture and was surprised. I have never heard of pumpkin-blasting before. Yours is a different culture! Glad that you had fun.
A wee curious here: Do you only blast pumpkins? What else happens?
Joy always,
Susan
Oooh, flying pumpkins, I love it! lol
Nice 160.
My 160 - His First Time.
susan, no it was a blast in more ways than one...smiles. we spent the day running through corn mazes, riding hay rides, picking pumpkins, playing with the farm animals...they had a huge bin filled with corn kernels that the boys played in like a sand box...there was a corn gun too where you launched dried ears...all of the launched food would be eaten by livestock eventually...there was also a slide called the mine shaft which was an underground slide...rubber duck races...lots of fun...but that would go way over 160...lol.
Is it a bird, is it a plane .. no it's Brian's flying pumpkin!!
Wow it sounds like such a fabulous day of fun!
Hi Brian,
So glad you all had a blast, your day sounded like it was a lot of fun.
Happy Pumpkin Day to you all.
God bless.
PS...doing okay, will be back soon.
This looks like so much fun!!! Boy that pumpkin had some power behind it!!Glad you had a wonderful time :)
Just made pie ! owe someone a loaf or 2 of pumpkin bread-
Launching pumpkins, huh;wouldn't want to be under the landing ! a spray of seeds
maybe...interesting!
My only question is: Is it still good for a pie after the landing?
Never ever waste a good pumpkin pie says I.
Nice one Brian. The flying pumpkin is great. I suspect no amount of "work" will make the landing anything but splat.
It's the Flying Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Incoming!!! LOL.
Thank you, Brian, for all of your wonderful recent comments. I am trying to catch up a little, today. :-)
pumpkin flying through the air!
I like that!

Ha! I have a 50 year old big boy that I think would enjoy that big gun as well!
A FUN 160- our pumpkin patch here is nothing as fun as that, my boys would have loved it.

It's great to have fun. Nice to be with your kids, and I know - the kid is revived in you too.
I love how you can create a poem out of any experience or thought. Enjoyed this one as always.

Look's like fun. Yeah, the landings always seem to be the real issue.
Wow! What fun. A punkin gun. Love this time of year and your 160. Thanks for playing, Brian.
Brings memories of taking the children to the pumpkin patch, they loved it but we didn't shoot them in the air like that (my son would of loved it.....:-) Hugs
yup, it's getting to be about that time, isn't it? Excellent 160!
You are a man of many talents. Maybe it's time to move up to bigger things. I posted something on Sightings for you.
I've never heard of pumpkins shooting through the air, I guess that's how you squash the enemy.
Wow, you have pumpkins for Africa! Dorothy looks quite incapable - but my goodness have I been proved wrong! Wonderful family fun day... Lucky kids - big and small!
Oh boy, what a FUN post! And that is SOOOOOO funny about the pumpkin in the first pic! OMG, sweet orangy post!
Looks like a lot of fun. Loved the Charlie Brown reference!
What fun. It's been way too long since I've been to our pumpkin patch here.
I wanna blast pumpkins!
that sounds fantastic - we don't have something like this over here...i know someone who would love to try this...
I take it the gun is for the pumpkins? Is it loud? They shoot corn cobs through a cannon here at the local Corn MaiZe. It's pretty cool. Well, the guys like it anyway.
Haha! I need one of those in my lawn.
Long live the Great Pumpkin!
Fun 160.

Looks like great fun. Why don't we do that sort of thing over here?
How interesting!! Wish we had that here!
I want to go to a pumpkin patch this year..........hopefully we can!! Yours looks fun!!
What a lot of fun!! I read in the comments all the things you did. I bet the boys were tired and slept well that night. I love to watch these competitions on the science channels when they launch the pumpkins. The Great Pumpkin is a family viewing tradition in our house. ..."I got a rock..." :)
Awesome pic! The flying pumpkin rocks! :)
sounds like a great day had by all :)
What lucky children you and your wife have, they have such a wonderful family creating beautiful memories to last a lifetime.
PG
There's little to compare with the joy of firing a pumpkin from a cannon.
Very cool!
Ahhh, nothing like a good old pumpkin blaster to make a party!! :)
Looks like a ton of fun. Pumpkins appearing here now too, yay.
xo
I bet your boys loved the flying pumpkin. Awesome.
We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday, too. Sadly, there wasn't a pumpkin catapult. My boys would have LOVED that.
What a shot!
I've never been to a corn maze. (I have nightmare like thoughts of Children of the Corn) but the pumpkin patch sounds like fun!
I have a pumpkin growing in my yard (that I didn't plant) and I'm actually excited to see how big it gets before it's time to pick.
Way to go with the pumpkin blaster.
I've seen pumpkins launched by a trebuchet, but I've never seen a pumpkin gun like that! I can't believe how high your pumpkin got. What fun! Great pictures and your poem is really cute too. :) Paulette
that is SO COOL!!!
the Great Pumpkin...love it!
last time was in a pumkin patch i was a little girl im hoping i could go back this year
):)(:(
Is that like a potato gun? Thanks Brian.
Shoot out at the pumpkin patchÉ
That is wrong, Charlie Brown, just wrong!
Would love to see flying pumpkins. A few years back we had a pumpkin patch launching some (Little People Big World) but we never made it out to see it.
that looks kinda fun...hope no one was on the receiving end though :)
Now that is something I have never seen before! A pumpkin blaster (is that what's on the sign?)--ingenious. But will it be a match for the Great Pumpkin ;)
Sounds like you had a lot of fun, Pumpkin.
I've been to a pumpkin patch. But it didn't have a big gun! Hummmm....After the landing there will be seeds sprouting pumpkins someday where you least expect it!
Rick
Splat! Looks like fun!
Hello Brian:)
I can see you had a wonderful time with your family and your post reflects the great fun you had.
Best wishes:)
Joseph
As we passed the pumpkin patch on my way to dropping off stuff at work today, I commented that we needed to do this.
Has been a very long time... and only a quarter of a mile from my workplace. Need to add it to my to do list this year. Sounds like a funfilled day.
My 2 boys love to do this.
Once, just thinks it's dumb.
Me? secretly, I like to do it, too.
WAAAY FUN!!
Happy Sunday, B.
P.S. If you have the time, pls stop over and read the fantastic post at bossy betty.
