summer sun caresses
your face,
painting freckles on
your cheeks
& i
catch a glimpse of the girl
i fell in love with,
years ago
& i
feel like
a dirty old man.
What can you say in 160 characters? (spaces included) Give it a try and go tell Monkey Man.
Just another little love note for my wife. smiles.

You mean "dirty old man' in a good way, right? *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*
anything but a "dirty old man"...maybe, rather, an old fashioned romantic, yes?
Nah...just romantic. :)
You make 'dirty old man' sound like a bad thing !
Adorable!
I agree with 5thsister.....a great romantic....not dirty old man...☺
in a good way...lol. yeah. i was trying to contrast how young she looks with the freckles...and well...i better just leave it there for now...smiles.
Freckles of love, age and memories. Why wouldn't you want to be a 'dirty old man?'
Joy and peace,
Susan
Why would you feel that way? Isn't the young man who fell in love still in you?
Your wife is a lucky woman!
haha..i still feel that way, even after 25 years. great!
so beautiful Brian that you can always see the girl you felt in love with and married in this wonderful way ... :-) but that "dirty old man" doesn't really fit with you! nope!! I agree with the question of Fireblossom ... happy Sunday!
Dirty old man? Nah...
How about a beautiful poet
Beautiful poem indeed
awwww...
ha - i also wonder about the dirty old man....but love what you write about your wife...grow together but still see the girl you once fell in love with - that IS romantic!
Your wife is one lucky woman!
In my old life I would have said "Aren't they all" the first thing out of my mouth as I read this title. Not any more. Looking at your love and seeing her as she was when you fell in love is so sweet. You see the real woman from the inside out not looking from the outside in.
Enjoy the effective word choice for sound: summer caresses,..painting freckles...
The best feeling in the world.
Happiness
this was sweet because I know it's source...cute
and very funny too
Rene
what a lucky wife you have...
simply gorgeous, brian! what a wonderful take on love and aging, done as perfectly as i've ever seen! and, just how did t's work week go??
How beautiful!
My wish would be that all married couples could experience what you just wrote and that many years later hubby would still feel like a dirty old man.
PG
ahhhhh. Every man should write this to his woman-if he's smart. :)
deerist brian, i seen a foto of yor wife heer on yor blogg onse. she is very mutch prettie. and she lukky to have yoo writting she pomes. and yoo lukky wit she being so nise and prettie.

ah, Brian,...this one hit my heart.
We have been married 38 years (as of Aug. 5th this year) and we still look at each other and see the young, naive silly kids we were back then...I hope it never ends for you either.
Old and tired
and bent and busted
grey and wrinkled
and you can't be trusted??
You??
NEVER!! :0

Your wife is a lucky woman, Brian. That kind of love is a rarity!
Charming, Brian, you can capture little and precious elements of love and express them so beautifully :)
awwwwwww.....
Yeah, maybe, but there is such a romantic old soul in that dirty old man's body. ;-)
Just read this to MM...we both laughed...it's would be just like him to say this, too. Have a great Sunday!
I really REALLY can't see how you ended up with feeling like "a dirty old man". It just doesn't fit. Doesn't compute. It's almost as though you equate sex with something dirty. (I find that slightly upsetting - even discouraging) You shouldn't. Ever. Otherwise, nice scenario.
LOL! Brian, that's so sweet!
I started to comment that your wife is one lucky woman ... and realized you are both equally lucky!
Yeah, I sometimes feel the same way.
You are a dirty old man. ... Smiles.
I know that feeling. My bride looks the same to me today as she did 19 years ago. Thanks for playing along with the Sunday 160 and being a great blog friend.
Love this. Brief but to the point and a fantastic, adorable, and melting one! :)
Surely you too caught a glimpse of yourself as a younger man?
Hi! Brian-
Thanks, for sharing and I will leave it at that...I hope you and your family have/had a nice week-end too!
DeeDee ;-D
absolutely beautiful..it's the way my parents see each other (not as a dirty old man, I mean), but as they were 60 years ago.
This is so sweet and innocent, and the turn in the end makes it funny.;)
Have a lovely Sunday dear Brian; I am posting tomorrow but then will be on an extended blog break; see you when your favorite lady will be knocking on the door.;))
xoxo
dirty old man? i think not.
just a sweet guy in love with his woman.
I hope your wife knows how lucky she is. I know you are a wonderful husband and father; kind, gentle, sensitive and loving!
:-)
S
This made me smile.
nice, & nicely evocative, & nice clean sentiment (we're all human, after all, & tg for that!) - BTW what makes s.t. dirty?
May I interest you in a Walnetto?
(You are way too young, I'm afraid this is a Job for GOOGLE.. Laugh in, Arte Johnson, Tyrone Horneigh)
LOL! I hope she appreciates you the way I do my own dirty old man.
"Dirty old man", eh? Shame on you ;)
cool
The title threw me...I'm glad it was just a feeling and not a real dirty old man.
Well, you're CERTAINLY not old!
Yes I'm on break, but I needed a mller fix....glad I stopped by, as always BRILLIANT!@ :)
Hmmm ... dirty old man doesn't ring right with me. Romantic, yes.
ok, so the last line seems a poetic fail...lol. i really was trying to play off how young the sun makes her look and the desire it brings...
and i turn 37 this month so you are catching me in the middle of my midlife crisis...lol.
"Just another little love note for my wife". *sighs*
angelmay...no sex is only dirty when you want it to be...or when you are camping...esp at the beach that sand...nevermind...no sex is a very good thing...i encourage it often in marriages...that physical connection is hugely important to the relationship...its not the only thing...definitely...
I'm sure your wife doesn't see you as a "dirty old man"...
"painting freckles on your cheeks"
wonderful. I always tell my daughter that her freckles are God's kisses because that's what my grandma told me when I bemoaned my freckly fate.
Very nice, and even though you say you feel like a dirty old man, there is a sense of innocence in this.
wonderful!
the 'dirty old man' caught me off-guard :)... love the way you love on your wife in this...
WHAT was going through your mind when your first saw her??? LOL
awe dirty old man nah, a man in love yes, nice mate :)
She's very lucky, Brian!
She's very lucky, Brian!
Not a dirty old man!
Definitely romantic.
Maggie
Nuts in May
I love freckles
Hey B...Never defend your work!!!!!!!!
Totally get the dirty old man reference. The older man (like 37 is really old) desiring the freckle-faced (younger) girl. It seemed fitting for a poem of 160 characters. Def something not easy to tackle and you do it with such ease.
You are a rascal! I love it. And I think you are also incredibly romantic.
Great note :) happy Sunday!
This was so adorable...I totally get what you were saying. I bet your wife enjoyed looking young again even if only in your eyes, don't we all!
Ok...GUEST POST by your WIFE??? Seriously, that would be so cool!
you are just the sweetest thing...
sigh, love it :)
Hah! You aren't old, Brian!
I knew exactly what you meant my friend and I love that feel the way you do. You two are blessed to have each other.......:-) Hugs
No. Not a dirty old man. A traditional romantic. Lovely poem. What a nice tribute too. Very sweet.
Love this one! :)
How sweet! Viva Viagra!
Oh Brian, this made me smile so big...love that you are so crazy about your wife...goes to show that "dirty old man" can be a good thing. Hope you and yours have a happy week! :)
How sweet, in a weird kinda way. LOL
oh, your poetry is killing me. PLEASE tell me your wife gets to see these...my goodness...
Brian:
You are an incurable 'old' romantic soul in love with the love of your life, that is just divine. Oh to be loved that way by the man in my life wow it is wonderful
Joanny
I love such dirty old men who ogle at their wives :)
This is very beautiful. Thanks.
Have a good day, Boonsong
Awww... I am sure you are just the same yourself, Brian :) Unless "dirty old man" meant something else! ;)
A lovely 160!!
this is awesome.
"dirty old man" is a phrase that has a lot of potency
oh come on...37 year!!! but you are the babe of our group LOL a great 160 and i hope i will feel that way still in years to come..cheers Pete
By the title I thought this was going to be a bad thing, but it turned out to be a nice love interest. Thanks Brian, blessings, JBR
Ahhh! She is young and beautiful still and this elicits such thoughts!! You dirty old man you!!
Ha!
Hugs
SueAnn
Aww Brian you are too cute for words.
Very nice. I admit - I thought you were going somewhere else with this...
But... why 'dirty'?
;) ;)
Hugs
yes that's right, you must be getting old :p
That's not being a dirty old man . . . That's love. :)
Not at all - when you love someone you see them in all the ages you've known them.
I think you clean up nice you dirty old man you. :)
My wife's innocence now makes me feel that way at times.
Good luck to T as she ventures forth bravely into the working world again.
You are SUCH a lovable guy, I swear! Why if you weren't married, and I was twenty years younger, er, wait, maybe not THAT much younger, oh yeah, and I wasn't married, too, and we lived in the same area, oh forget about it, it's TOO COMPLICATED!
this makes me grin from ear to ear.
So romantic! You two are blessed. :)
Lucky girl.
:)so romantic
In this case it is ok to be a dirty old man.
Awwwww!!
I guess the title "dirty old man" doesn't fit the emotion expressed in the poem.. This is just so romantic and sweet!! Love it..!
totally sweet :)
loved this :)
