sidewalk street band,
rasta man
got a drum
'tween his knobby knees
dancing lady, arms akimbo
shake, shake, shakin'
da tamborine
two singers sway,
singing a breeze
honk, honk
we add as we
drive on by
joining our voices
to the reverie
cept d'ose standing
wonderin' what
da hell's happenin'
come on ev'body
let's sing.
Tell a story in 55 words. Give it a try or just read more, go see g-man.

This swings!!!!
I like it a lot - except - you did not mention the Saxplayer - guess there was none..... ;o
haha, I looooove street musicians (and was one last night, ha) and it's so true about those onlookers that just stare, don't get into it, and have no clue :-) But the good listeners are worth it! Bet you were a good one.
Seems to a built in jazz to this piece :)
Very vivid, and upbeat. Brought me...smiles ;-)
Ya mon! I'm feelin' irie wid dis post!
I could hear the music!
I think I'll just have to find some Bob Marley music today!
You know Ill be singing that song all day now...
Think I'll do some shakin, arms akimbo, with the boys today. Kids are all about spontaneous dance.
I'll have a Foofoo Umbrella Drink with that please. ;) :)

I haven't seen any street musicians around in years, but used to join in with them now and then.

Right on Brian, a very happy go lucky kind of day there, and spontaneous to boot.
It sounds like a wonderful jam session, I can see all the players. Good fun.

Hi Brian..
I just received 2 beautiful awards from Jingle and Ilakya, which, after this sweet foot-tapping number from you, I would love to share with you.. I would really be thrilled and honored if you accept them... You will find them here .. they are first 2 on the page! :)
Best Regards,
Kavita
Loved your 55, nicely written.
just got to step out! Sadly, my evil employer expects me to work occasionally for my wages and this week has meant a whole lot of lobbying, prize-giving, speech-making, and back-room politicking - oh and lots of trains and planes. So thanks for dropping by and the comments. I would add that the story has no reference to anyone I know - living or dead. And that mean my wife...because she reads the blog.
I saw the Wailers last time they were in town - it's always seemed like such summery music to me.
This is great--you really caught the rhythm, the timing, the accent. Time to find the reggae CD...Thanks!
That sounds like fun :)
And I'm glad you shared...I could see and hear them. :)
Ha! How delightful is this? I especially like the honk honk part.
Oh, I feel like having a fancy drink now, mon!
I like the street bands. Very cool.
Gotta go listen to Marley now...
