sitting
in the red corner booth
at the diner
sipping my cherry coke,
only tasting you;
seductive & sweet
with a little bite
in a sweaty glass,
popping and fizzing,
and tickling my nose.
if you said
DRINK ME
i'd savor every drop,
run my tongue
across my lips,
just to be sure,
then head on over to
the refrigerator
to grab some more.
have you decided what you want to eat?
no, here. keep the change. i just might make it home in time for dessert.

I have never longed for a cherry coke more than I do right this very moment. ;)
Ok I'd like to be someone's cherry coke!
Sweet! Your life is one very lucky woman. And you are lucky that she is willing to have all these odes of love about her posted on the web. Well ... I am assuming they are about her ...
Hmmmm - meant wife not life ... but come to think of it you lead a lucky life too. Of course you create your own in so many ways!
Reminds me of the vanilla cokes I used to get from the fountain in the drugstore. Hadn't thought about that in years. Thanks!
I love Cherry Coke. Always have. Always will. And I'll never look at it the same way ever again. LoL :)
Coke should hire you....or at least use your copy.
oh they most certainly are about her bonnie...yes indeed...smiles.
Nice. LOVE Cherry Coke... ;)
The sensuality of this poem is dazzling and it is so well constructed, wonderful.
I've never had a cherry coke.
Thinking maybe I should!
I really enjoyed reading that. Made me smile :D
Awww. :)
I'm old enough to remember soda fountains, where anything was possible...
Nice Brian, keep sippin til she cries cherry cola tears
LOL
you should look up on the drive home by of Montreal. You kind of wrote a poem about it for your wife
Wow! I think I need a fan...your wife is one lucky woman and I know you feel you're one lucky man. It shows in all you write. That's awesome.
BTW you make it hard for a diabetic to resist cherry coke. :)
:) That was fun!
Wow. And I'm a Diet Dr. Pepper girl myself. But you just might have made me change my mind. Holy crap! I'm salivating! And it ain't for soda!
Sizzlin' hot, Brian!
I love the poems you write for your wife. What a blessing to love and be loved by wonderful, amazing people.
(And now I really want a Cherry Coke!)
Thanks for stopping by! It's good to be back :)
Jen
Very sweet, as usual my friend.
That made me break into a big grin Brian. Enjoy, my friend!
Sweet . .you know we can't buy it here! They tried to market Vanilla but it didn't take off. Another item to add to the 'when I visit America' list!
H.O.T. D.A.M.M.M.!!!
I may just switch from Espresso to...YOU know--grin!
You had me at "cherry coke" (grins)!
These could be song lyrics. You are so talented, Brian. I don't know what else to say.
Mmmmmmmmm! Delicious!
cherry coke? eeek. No thanks!
I'll have some whipped cream with mine.
"...only tasting you..."
oh very very yummy poem.
A little bit on the erotic side today here at the ol' Waystation! :)
I remember the first time I ever tasted Cherry Coke, I thought it was the best soda in the world. I remember telling my mom this, and she looked at me like I was nuts and then said, "Cherry Coke has been around forever, we drank it all the time at the drive ins during the 50's". But to every generation they like to think they discovered it first.
Sweet and sweeter. -j
cherry coke is one of my favs along with dr pepper, sweet post mate, the answer to the movie quiz was, "whatever happened to baby jane"? a bit before your time, even mine lol.
So Brian, is your wife the server in that diner?
OH tease us, won't you? I love the phrase, "...only tasting you; seductive and sweet with a little bite in a sweaty glass, popping and fizzing, and tickling my nose."
Now, now, we all want whatever you are actually drinking....
Still laughing at that last line. Hope you got your fill!
Cherry cokes, after school snuggled in a booth at the drug store (soda fountain) hormones, only thing on my mind.
awesome
Jim
That was the sexiest bottle of cherry coke I have ever heard of! Sounds like I have been missing out!
Hugs

My, My, My Brian! I must just get my husband to start his own blog & I know that you having a kind heart might give his some subtle hints on how to write romantic!! Those words made me melt ... so seductive...you little romeo you!!!
Yes! Very good. Sassy and saucy and sizzlin'. The thought of cherry coke takes on a whole new meaning. Great job Mr Brian!
After THAT cherry coke, who needs desert (smiles).
Ok!!...now I'm yearning for a cold drink. I like the way you paint a picture with your writings. You give readers a clear image to look at. Cheers!!!
You're a cherry coke guy? Cherry coke is not really a man's drink, if you ask me, but I'll let you off.
what a tease
Damn.
Very nice Brian. It all sounded very sexy! :O
A slice of pie, I mean "life."

ps- I had a diet cherry coke today and loved every minute of it... but I didn't taste anything except cherry coke... I must have been doing it wrong...
OH, I have always been a coca cola fan...but after reading this, I can think of something that most certainly could be my "cherry coke"....Ummm! ;) hee
That can actually work as an ad :)
Wow! Very sensual and romantic. Your wife is one very lucky lady.
Your wife must just adore you.. even more than a cherry coke. :)
I love it, but Cherry Coke is just gross. What's wrong in your head?
Awww - how sweet. Your wife is a lucky gal to have you and the reverse I know is true.
you enjoy those sweet cherry cola moments
Symbolic? Cherry.......coke. Just an observation......
When I drink soda, I prefer a Cherry Coke or a Dr. Pepper.
Now, I want one!
:)
Happy Mother's Day to your T!
Sweet and sizzling! Like it...
"If you said DRINK ME I'd savor every drop". LOVE THAT!!! How powerful just that one line is. Great how just capitalizing two words can make it sing.

Sound sweet to me.. thanks Brian.. :))
Best Regards,
Sam..
It's been eons since I had a cherry coke. But the memories are very clear now. Especially on my taste buds.
Cherry Coke just doesn't cut it for me... change it to Fanta and now we're talking!
Are you old enough to remember when a cherry coke was a squirt of cherry syrup into a coke while you sat at the fountain waiting for it to be served up?
Damn! Wish someone would compare ME to a Cherry Coke... how romantic would that be? But, after too many years of swigging Dr Pepper, I guess I missed my chance!
You give great love poetry!
Quirky, sensual, tongue-in-cheek, and witty - so much humour here, I love it!

Brilliantly done, Brian. Could you write a book on romantic ways to win a woman?
It was fun reading some of the comments. I'm at a loss for words. That doesn't happen very often. So, my smile will have to do.
Stalra
Hi Brian:)
I envy you for having the sizzling cherry coke. Your lovely writing makes my mouth water.
In India coke has not introduced the cherry coke. Thinking of it makes me feel more thirsty:)
I remember when I was young I used to drink coke many times during the day. But later on Coke had to go out of India because they were not willing to toe the Indian government line. After many years,Coke came back again to India and is quite popular now. But then Pepsi is breathing down its neck.
It will be interesting to note that the CEO of Pepsi for their world wide operation is a lady from India. Her name is Indira Nooyi.
Best wishes Brian:)
Joseph
Ooo, very sweet and tantalizing. Nice work, Brian, Coke or no Coke ;)))

Smiles Brian
We don't have cherry coke in NZ. I want to try one.
Okay, you know what instantly popped into my head? "Sucking on a chili dog outside the Tastee Freeze."
Made me think of this song:
"She's my cherry pie,
Cool drink of water, such a sweet surprise.
Tastes so good, make a grown man cry,
Sweet cherry pie."
Substitute coke for pie.
Now that got the taste buds working :-)
I'm a coffee man myself - dark, slightly bitter and, er, available in several varieties? OK I didn't really think that through.
//only tasting you;
seductive & sweet
with a little bite
