man on a park bench sings
guitar case by his feet
plastered in sticker dreams
where you headed?
no where man,
going
no where man...
and that makes sense to me.
What can you say in 160 characters? (spaces included) Go see Monkey Man.
when you are headed no where, i can guarantee you will get there...have a great sunday everyone...

livin' in the moment...
who does that?!
They call him 'The wanderer' ... he roams around, around, around, around, around!
mmm, you're right (closing line).
Sometimes it seems like we are all in a race to get no where first.
I like the image of the sticker dreams plastered on the guitar case.
I feel very sad when I meet people like that.
They seem SO LOST.
We are so blessed that we are not like that.
Blessed our families for keeping it real for us?
Very meaningful 160, Brian!
Have you a great Sunday!
hugs
shakira
Mine is here
a gypsy moment, for the joy of it, love it!
No where man, please listen, you don't know what your miss'n, nowhere man ... the world is at your command.
I like your take on it better.
When you get your inspiration, do you write down your words right away, or do you need quiet time to write?
Inquiring minds want to know!
Very philosophical for only 100 characters...
Yes, what an uncomplicated life for such a man. Sometimes that freedom is pretty enticing to me.
hmmm.... that one makes me consider a larger perspective.
You painted a picture!
Now there's someone who knows how to BE ... in the moment ... not always rushing to the next thing or place.
So true, and so simple.;)
For some reason, this brought up the lyrics to the Johnny Cash song "I've been everywhere, man..." in my head.;))
Have a great Sunday as well,
xo

cottage girl, i keep a notebook with me...sometimes the muse gives it to me all at once, sometimes just a snippet. i go back and refine and play with the words in my journal. it also helps on those days when nothing comes to go back to those thoughts i did not check off in the book and see what grabs me.
In real it's a sad life. In a different perspective, if you make no plans, life might turn out more bright than we ever expected.
Those guys are everywhere
Ha!
Dianne
It does seem that there is always some place to be or some thing that must be done.
I forgot to tell someone, mine is up HERE
The world is at your command.
Sometimes sitting still is the best bet.
I dated him for two years,
and then I went somewhere
I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar. :-)
excellent, Brian
No where, but everywhere in his imagination :0}
depends upon your point of view
1) you never get anywhere if you don't have a direction, as in without a dream
or
2) sometimes not having a plan and just being is what our hearts are called to.
I think I am the philosopher of the first category.
I am singing the Beatles song in my head..... Have a great day!
Just loved how you ended it with, "and that makes sense to me". A story where I would probably be asking a million questions, and yet, simplicity and understanding. Great one again!
I always envy people like this. Not because they can play and sing though I can't play and sing! Sometimes going nowhere is very appealing.
This sings in my head. Great 160!
The Negotiator
nice! i can almost see the leaves on the trees fluttering quietly, listening to your conversation.
i, like cottagegirl can't help but ask so many questions about your posts...how it is that your eyes see so much more than is visible :)
happy sunday to ya!
Well....if you don't care where you are, you ain't lost, baby!
Oww Brian *hugs* you're one of the most talented people I know you *are* going places ;)

"sticker dreams" got me!
I like that, sir. Very nice.
True,
He hopped into your blog and become a star, what a miracle!
It seems like he is not in motion, but his staying put captures YOU,
and everything goes dynamic...
Elegant piece,
The power in your words is unstoppable!
Smiles!
Love this one...very nice.
Makes sense to me too. And though the man on the bench didn't say so, "nowhere" is sometimes not a bad place to be.
Excellent job!
Great 160. Brings the tune to mind.
Thanks, Brian! Now I have an insight as to how geniuses think!!!
I could hear the music! The case had ragged stickers of places long ago forgotten. His voice was gravely and yet clear. He was somewhere for sure!!
Hugs
SueAnn
Very nice Brian. Have a great Sunday too! :)
This gives me the feeling he's going nowhere because he's perfectly content right where he is. He's got his guitar and his music. What else does he need?
I loved this. Made me think of an old blues man at the crossroads.
Hi! Brian,
Not as much as you just did...Because I can picture that scenerio in my "mind eye" happening in any metropolis.
I hope you and your family are having a good weekend
too!
DeeDee ;-D
Love your closing line Brian. So true. It doesn't take much ambition to get no where.
Happy Sunday!
Sounds kind of Zen to me... being happy just living in the moment.
A very cool 160, Brian! Mine is up, too.
And now I have a Beatles song stuck in my head. :)
I saw this one played out. Thanks. Liked it. Have a great week! :)
I've got that song in my head now. I may have to find my old Beatles albums. (Yes, albums. They were my mother's.)
Sticker dreams...such a visual prompt to nowhere, man. So true, we need direction to stay on our path.
funny, one of your readers thought on the same lines as me, the beatles, now I cant get that song out of my head LOL, cool one mate :)
You said it all with that last line.
Hey, just being. Thanks!
Every now and then, that man on the bench lives inside all of us.
Relax, sit back, and let life come to you my man.
Brian:
Are you going to nominate up to 15 poets, the deadline is within 6 hours, I am cool with any decision you make.
Thank you for the attention.
Hope that you enjoy a remarkable evening!
take good care.
So well done! Maybe because I prefer haiku, but I think the limitations of poetry forms help the writer condense meaning and images. On my short poems and the emotions they evoked -- that's good. The attempt had some success then. Glad you liked them. Thank you for your supportive visits and comments.
I just heard the Beatles song "Nowhere Man" the other day . It has such a different meaning to me today than 2 years ago. Thanks for the grateful memory :)
For some reason, this reminded me of "Hotel California."
Amen to that! Rather than asking people where they are from, we should ask them where they are going.
Thank you for praying for me, Brian!
Nice tight scene Brian.
My (belated) personal awards for Week 12 of Jingle's Rally are up. I hope you will visit me to collect yours.
I liked it! Made me want to sing,
"Sitting in his nowhere land, making all his nowhere plans... for nobody :)."
"when you are headed nowhere I guarantee you will get there"
This line just got stuck in my mind. Simply expressed yet has alot of depth to it and of course very thought-provoking!
It conjured up the Beatles' song for me too. You sure do pack a lot of imagery and sound into your 160 characters.
"plastered in sticker dreams"...
LOVE that line.
Well done, my friend!!!
sooooo true! i like the simplicity of how you wrote it... :)
But is he a real no where man?
and if you don't change directions, you may end up where you're heading. :o)
Love this...especially the stickers.
Now you've created an earworm for all of us. :)
just wanted to say.. i really enjoy reading your writing. very interesting and creative.
I throw you a coin in the box
fantastic.
Great image. Love it!
It is raining in my place,
Hope that your place is full of sunshine.
