fingers probe
the lock, learning
its contours
here in this
cold concrete room
wondering if i locked
everyone out or
myself in?
alone
scared
angry
then you
walk in.
What can you say in 160 characters (spaces included). Go see Monkey Man.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Love met me when I least expected it. May it find you today.

Wonderful Brian!Happy Valentine's Day to you both!:)
Very good! Enjoy V-day!
Beautiful. I love the Ending..
Happiest Valentine to you and the Mrs.
But I have a feeling every day is Valentine day in your home.. (hugs).
You know I had Four Men in my life 13-15 months since I was separated/divorced. I never felt Loved by any of them.. even if they proclaimed it and did many many many things for me..
I did not feel they truly loved themselves either.
I spent the last year mainly solo.. and fell in LOVE with me.
It is better to first be Complete/Whole.. before you can find Romantic love. I don't feel alone without a Valentine.. I feel Happy that I'm still becoming more and more whole each through Al-Anon.. and God.
That is the best way to experience love when you least expect it.
Isolation brings no solace, yet many choose to isolate themselves--don't know why,
Anyway...nice poem, Brian...and wish you a Happy Valentines' Day :)
wishes,
devika
Lovely ending Brian. To you and your wife a very Happy Valentines Day!~~Becky

Working on Valentine's Day trying to sell risqué nighties and trying hard to keep the images out of my head. Pork chops!
Oh and happy V-Day!
Such a testiment to the depth of your feelings. Happy Valentine's Day!
Unexpected true love is the best.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Neither locked out nor in, not then, not ever...
Great Brian.
what can i say in ONE word? perfect. happy Love day Brian to you and the love of your life.
How perfectly written, Happy Valentines' Day to you and your wife :)
We all have our ways of locking ourselves away and sometimes we believe it is they who have locked us out! The change in a life when someone reaches out and we allow the connection is amazing. Some things are so astounding I cannot put into words. I only know the end result is absolute and joyous. Happy Valentines Day to you and your beautiful wife.
Wish I could shut out half of what goes on around me...I find the Haiku and Tanka much easier but applaud your efforts, sir ;)
Excellent job, Brian, and nice sweet sentiment at the end.
160 characters spaces included? Wow. You did it beautifully. Very nice job Brian!
Nice work in a 160 characters.
Commend you on technique. Building up panic to its resolution. Its superb!
Happy valentine's to you and yours too.
How many words? This day should be called the 'writers' day' since writers can conjure up words that do the trick of connecting the universe.
And you are one of them.
Love is the key to everything, isn't it?! A wonderful 160, Brian.
Hi!
Very nice writing.
I just found your blog.
This 160 concept is interesting. I would like to try it on my own blog.
Good stuff here.
I'll be back.
That was short and simple..yet powerful and true!!! Nicely written and Happy V-Day to you!
Seems like you were saved by her. That is a wonderful Valentines present!
Great 160. Love opens doors. Clears skies. Lifts fog. Thanks for playing and Happy V-Day to you and yours.
This is very cool!
Happy Valentine's Day!
these 160 say so much....great poem Brian.......:-) Hugs

Great story! Have a happy Valentine's Day! :)
Ditto! Real love found me unexpectedly. There was a tiny part of me that knew "he" was the one for me from the first time I heard him speak. Married 18 1/2 years so far. :)

I love the line about locking everyone out or yourself in. it says a lot about love (or lack of).
glad she found you.
Happy V Day, Brian.
I love your love story. Sweet indeed. :)
Great 160, Brian... love usually does come when you least expect it.
The metaphorical lock? I've got a couple of them too. x
It has been finding me all week in unexpected ways. What a wonderful journey I have been on.
Happy V-Day
Hugs

Happy Valentine's Day to you and your wife, Brian!
It always does....
Kiss Me, you fool.
I'm so glad you found your way out of that room!
Great metaphor.
Your pieces often remind me of songs I love. This one reminds me of...
Then all at once, he was standing there,
so sure of himself, his head in the air.
My heart was breaking, which one would it be?
You turned around and walked away with me.
I know they are not really the same, but it's the emotion that they evoke in me, this uncertainty and tightening in the chest followed by a very satisfying relief.
Love is best when not expected.
Lovely piece, about a lovely love, on a lovely day!
True love!
Have A Sweet Evening!
U R A Sweet Valentine today,
;)
;)
I appreciate your kind words,
I know many people dislike Asian,

This reminds me of my spouse asking me if it gets scary in there when I get stuck in my head. ;-)
I'm here to try again. I prayed it will work because it worked at lakeviewer's that has the same comment format as you.
1,2,3.

You old romantic you. Not many people can do so much with so few characters as you.

I LOVE that.;) There is so much power in those few words.
Hope you had a great Valentines Day, but knowing how infinitely romantic you are, I am sure it was heavenly.;)

Wish someone walked into my old dingy room too. And I'm sure I locked myself in it.
so chilly... 'til i reached the end. loooovely!
Isnt that the way it works out Brian...Great poem :)
Surprising who can walk through those thick hard walls, real or imagined.... -J
I wonder what the ending would be if you had twice the amount o...never mind you don't think like Otin.
Good one again Brian.
I'm glad the right person walked in. :)
What a scary scenario, but at least the right person walked in.
I find your poetry beautiful. I figure you don't "do awards" but I gave you a shout out on my blog today. Come by and take a peek.

Wow Brian,,
You sure could say something so deep and profound in 160!!
I loved it and loved how it ended :)
You guys keep surprising me WOW
Hope your day went well
Nice comparison to the isolation ward being your heart until your wife came along.
You never disappoint with your prose! :) I especially love that last sentence - I'm betting you had a wonderful Valentine's Day! :)
Wonderful job!
aaaww...! this is cool!
Love met me too!! I am loving being in love.
sweep me into those powerful words and just whisk me away...! amazing the power
that felt so claustrophobic! glad she walked in
Is this a continuation 160 again? Cuz I gotta know...in...or out?
Cuz it could go either way you know.
Brian,
Happy Valentines Day Big Brother! Kiss the boys and T for me! This moved me alot! You know where I was when I found S and you nailed it here! I didn't get online until today otherwise I would have shared your words with him when he was here because he doesn't have access. I will definitely soon.
With Love
I really enjoyed this!
love met me when i decided to give up on the idea. it seems it likes to do that...tricky lil' devil.

OMG . . . Isn't that always the way?! Just when you say you're done with love and not looking for it anymore . . . It falls in your lap like a ton of bricks. :)
Very impressive for 160 characters! :)
