one day, i saw a polar bear in town.
it was lost.
i said, i am silly.
i called my penguin, Pingy!
he is silly too.
i love him, silly.
silly.
silly.
Logan, my oldest (7), wrote this. He has the stomach flu right now, which is making for wonderful nights of nastiness. Thought it might make him feel a bit better to share his story today.
On top of that, we are supposed to be clobbered by snow today. Which means I won't be around much if I can't get out of the house to somewhere that has internet. Will catch back up with you on Sunday.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Way to Go Logan! Silly is great stay that way!
Sending Logan lots of well wishes and happy tummy vibes and enough silliness to get him through the stomach flu and beyond.
Stay safe!
Silly is adorable.
Stomach flu deplorable!
Hope it disappears quickly. NOT a good combo to be snowed in WITH the flu!
Lovely silly, I guess the boy takes after his dad.;)
I hope he gets better soon.
Enjoy the snow, *sans internet*, it is good to be disconnected once in a while.;)
Have a lovely weekend.

Great job Logan! I hope you are feeling better today.
Great job Brian, in getting your son to express his feelings through writing.
I thought that was your writing! Very good!
Stay safe in the storm!!
I'd say Logan is well on his way to a first book, heh...
Had a touch of this meself.
Sending healing rays to Logan and a snow shovel for you ;)
Only kidding about the shovel, heh...stay warm!
At first I thought you were going a little Dr. Seuss on us...great job Logan! He is going to take after his dad!
Hope no one else gets the yucks!
Have a great weekend
2 thumbs up - Silly ROCKS! Tell Logan we want to hear more from him.
I think I love silly, too! Good job, Logan. Feel better.
Blessings to you. Thanks for sharing this little snippet from your boy. Stay safe.
Logan has the makings of following in his dad's footsteps as a writer! I loved his poem and I really hope he is feeling better soon!
Polar bears make great poetry subjects, good job Logan. Drink 7-Up and eat saltine crackers, stay away from anything else! But drink drink drink!
Dianne
Get better, Logan! And good luck through the storm, all of you!
Ugh, I just got over the stomach bug myself. I feel his pain. Cute poem.
Brian my dear, I did not realize that you put together these magnificent posts and have to travel somewhere to use the internet. You are a superman. Please tell Logan Auntie CiCi (TechnoBabe) thinks he is an aspiring famous writer!
Logan made my day! Maybe he will write self help books later..LOL
Hello Brian, dropped by to see what you do and I peeked around a little, but will have to return to enjoy more of your words!
Hi Brian...tell him I loved "Silly". Sorry he is feeling yucky! We just nailed with 16 inches of snow...so it is heading your way! Sorry!
Hugs
SueAnn
Like father like son.
There's 3 wishes for you...a healthy boy, the internet, and a mild snowstorm. Maybe no snow at all? :)
Lovely little rhyme. Following in your footsteps?
Now look...... you can keep any blasted snow. Don't send it this way. Had enough!
Nuts in May
Really Cute.. !!
I love his writing better than yours.. lol. You have competition now.
I love silly writings... lol.
Polar Bears were my high school team names- really!
That is a cute poem! Hope Logan feels better soon. The stomach flu is no fun. Be safe and warm!
Hey Logan!!! I love your poem because I love anything that is silly. (Don't tell anyone, but I'm silly too!)
I think you are going to be a good writer like your Dad. Hope you feel better soon.
A great cathartic excercise! (All we poets should do this once in a while, don't you think?)
You've got some talent there, Logan!
Silly is good. Snow and flu are not.
Silly rocks! Get well soon Logan.
Looks like this little guy is following in his daddy's footsteps!
Pingy is a great name. Hope you'll feel better soon Logan.
I hope that Logan is on the mend and feeling tip-top very soon.
Clearly, he's inherited his Dad's poet genes, taking us from the north pole to the south pole in just 8 lines. :)
I hope Logan feels better soon!
Like father, like son. The boy has your gift, Brian!
Very good poem, Logan! Keep it up!
I love being snowed in..We haven't had much in Vancouver this year.Which of course is ironic given we are hosting the 2010 Olympic games.
Hope you and fam will enjoy the quiet time with some creativity:)
Interestingly, he writes a lot like you. A younger version and younger subject matter, but still...
Logan knows! Stay safe.
i love polar bears, too. my first toy ever was a white teddy bear with blue paws. maybe this is why i'm so crazy about snow and the Arctic n' all. tell Logan, i'm STILL silly 4 decades later, it's a great way to be. and it helps you get better from the stomach flu better n' anything! (my mum also used to give me hot milk with a tsp or two of sugar and a bit of black pepper on top to settle my tummy. she was pretty silly herself). hope Logan is feeling better. p.s. SEND ME YOUR SNOW
Brilliant Logan!!!
I love penguins & polar bears!!1
You made me smile today Brian ~ thanks to you and the little man (hope he feels better soonest)
xo, Mango
I love the silly polar bears and penguins. Logan looks like he's taking after Daddy.
We have about six inches of snow so far. And four more hours of predicted snow fall.
You don't have internet at home?
silly stories are better than chicken noodle soup!
Logan is already developing his father's skills, ey?! ;) Very cute! Now, I want to go and be silly today!! Really. :D
Hope you don't get clobbered as much as they are saying. Be safe.
Happy Saturday!

That was awesome, Logan, I really enjoyed that! Feel better!
Great story Logan! Hope you are feeling better.
You don't have the net at home? Wow you're so prolific I thought you did. Shame about the littley. I remember those days, no fun, at least he's retaining his sense of humour. Hope you have/had a good weekend notwithstanding.
Hope your boy perks up soon. Seems like writing runs in the family. Have a great weekend too.
Awww.. so cute!
Hope he is feeling better!
How much snow? Its just cold here...I had to order myself one of those "Sun lights"...it should be here by Monday. I can't wait!!
Hope you are feeling better Logan, and I think your "silly" is wonderfully creative.
Lots of snow coming down here at the moment and it is ever so cold but then that is Alberta in January......:-)
Logan, you rock buddy! Good work, good writing, and get better :).
Great poem, Logan! Feel better soon!
Good one, seems talent runs in the family
Poor thing. I hope he feels better soon.
Hey, Logan--hope you're feeling much much better tonight! That kind of flu is the worst.
I really liked your poem! Hope to hear more from you sometime.
Satellite internet? I used to lose mine every time there was a thunderstorm. Stay warm!
Logan is following in dad's footsteps as a write :-) GREAT JOB LOGAN.
I hope by the time you read this he's feeling MUCH better.
jj
Oh my gosh, I love this!
The 1 year old calls penguins 'Peng's. So cute!
Hi Brian:)
Greetings to you and your family:)
I amazed at the capability of your son to write poetry. He is no doubt a budding poet.
I hope he will get well soon.
Living conditions must be quite tough with all that snow lying around. It is tough living conditions which makes tough mentally and physically tough. Here we don't have snow at any time of the year.We have a moderate climate and we lead an easy, lethargic life.
Wish you all the best Brian:)
Joseph
Oh, no...poor little dude....give him lots of daddy hugs...
I see he is alot like his dad in his love of writing!
So nice.....
wishing you a lovely evening.
best.
Lovely story by your daughter. I hope she is feeling better. Missed a weeks worth of blogs but had to stop by to visit. Be well.
Hope Logan is feeling better! We finally had to get away from the snow and took a litttle trip to green California. It was heaven - just to see color!
Awesome, sometimes a dose of silliness is just what we need. (Ask my kids...)
Sorry to hear about the tummy bug, I loathe those...hope he gets better soon.
Well done, Logan!
What a delightful silly poem! Hope he feels better soon - nothing more awful that those nasty nights...
And.. er.. don't you have Internet access at home?
that's a cute little poem that!
seems he has his fathers way with words and sense of timing
hope its a good warm weekend
Logan is the cutest... hope he is feeling better :0)
Feel better Logan! Great poem too, I'll read it to my oldest. She'll love it!
Hi! Brian,
Here wishing and hoping that Logan defeat that flu-bug!

DeeDee ;-D
Way to go Logan! Hope the little guy is feeling much better now. Stay warm!
Silly is my favorite characteristic. Looks like Logan has his father's gift with words.
It's Sunday. I'm waitin'. Sheesh. Lucky the kid is here to enterTAIN me .....
Oh it's bad I know,I hope he gets better really soon.Hope snow won't be annoying you too much.Have a nice weekend too.
we ended up with 14 inches of snow. roads are still nasty, but slipped out to get a few things and take a few minutes online.
logan is much better and today seems almost back to normal.
I hope your silly Logan is feeling 100% real soon!
Be safe out there on the roads. Catching up with you today makes me happy.
Love it....talent is in the genes! ;)
And feel better, too!
I love this silly poem!
Twitter, which I have to do for our tv station, is only 140 characters. I'm probably better at that.
did you get the snow you were dreading?
Seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. :) Hope Logan is feeling better!

Wow - Logan is amazing!
I hope he's feeling better now.
