soft petals part,
brushing my cheek
such delicate caress,
filling my senses
with your
heady perfume
and we...
lay in
fields of
green grass, revolving
around the sun,
erupting in
butterflies dancing
on a breeze...
be my Spring,
lend me your
warmth on a
chilly January
eve.
sexuality or spirituality?
both seeking to know and be known,
intimately.

Perfect for a cold, clear January night!
Namaste
I surely had that last question all mixed up for a long time. Today I know spirituality is in 'everything'.
Loved this.
PG
Ah, intimacy personified. Lovely.
You do not have to either/or that question....perhaps it is both/and.... Forget the perhaps.
this is beautiful. sex can be just about sex, but when a spiritual connection is involved, it becomes the best it can be. and really what 'making' LOVE is all about. i'm kinda giggling though, as i look over at your twitter post from a moment ago, "now to go home and play". uh huh. ;) well, now we know what that means...
b...lol. um, yeah. did not think that twitter comment through...lol.
bonnie...ah, too true
techno...what is intimacy if not personified...smiles.
prayer...i wonder if we all havent...
kim...definitely keeps you warm. smiles.
that was quite, quite lovely!
and I feel little WARM. Where's Tightwad????
This is so much! I love the intimacy it implies!
love warms the coldest night!! very timely ...c
yeah, see, this is really good.
so much room.
good stuff.
hahaha...oh yes, the twitter is perfect.
I think that this could be a nirvana song! I had some cool music going through my head as I read this!
Spiritual! Love it!
I love it when you write about me.
I like the thought of the two intermingling.
See you lost me in the heady perfume...I am too sensitive to smells. No perfume for me. (A good body wash and natural oils is all it takes...hmmm are we still talking perfume?) HA!
Be my Spring.
What a lucky lucky wife you have.
beautiful Brian...I am wishing big time for Spring right about Now!
a romantic at heart....very nice Brian....:-) Hugs
I especially love the ending. Very true... on so many different levels!
Just be careful not to roll in any poison ivy. The monster look kills the moment. ;^)
Our sexuality and spirituality are interconnected more than we admit sometimes. At least that's how I see it.
Beautiful! I cannot wait for Spring to arrive.
well written! I totally agree with Bonnie tho, I think it can be both. Especially the way you write ;)
Wonderful Poem. I read it and kept thinking of being in a field outside, watching the clouds go by as I picked flowers like I often do in the summer.
It is a wonderful sentiment though. I do agree that it can be sexual, spiritual, or both.
brian
here's my post

kudos to you-c
hmmmm...following....good....
Dianne
Everything is spiritual. Wonderful piece.
I want to lay in a field of green grass...all we get here is sand in all the special places ;0)
Rumi comes to mind . . .
This is one of these poems that will will help me to get through this cold month.;)
Love the sentiments as always.;)

Oooh I'm a day late... I hope romance is still in the air. Fantastic writing and expression, Brian.
As always Brian, you use words so well.
Oh, that's beautiful.
Love warms the heart and soul not matter the temps outside :) Perfect for the season...
Intimate, warm, cozy, cuddling. Love personified. Ahhh.
Oh my, I love this one!
Very nicely textured Brian.
I agree with many of the other comments - the best sex has spirituality entangled within. Your words are powerful. And I am so glad that there are a few romantics left in this world!
be my spring...
loved this piece but that is my favorite line.
compelling to the senses, this is stunning!!!!!
so tender, so vivid -- warm and beautiful! that's one lucky woman you've got!
i hope your little one is doing better and the ER is a distant memmory.
Happy New Year Brian!
warm smiles,
Reminded me of something out of "Song of Solomon"...
Very lovely!! It would be nice to just close my eyes and have that be read to me. I can totally picture it and feel the sensation of it.
soft fresh petals, green gras and butterflies seem so distant in this snowy winter
but I can sure find some ways to be warm on a chilly January eve. I think it's time for me now to go home and play :-)
As always, your words paint a picture. I think we are all bonded at a spiritual level somehow.
warms the soul...and that's good enough for me :)
Wouldn't want to lie in green fields around here! You'd be taken away by ants or bitten by something!
Both! :)
Wonderful lines written :-)
You are very good ...
Nice! Just don't lay in the green fields too long...they usually over water them and you'll get wet...
It's beautiful but I would get awfully itchy laying in all that grass! Happy New Year!! :)
I thought you were buried in snow?
Both are a gift...Enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by every day with words of support. You are a great blogger friend...Galen
isn't the definition of spirituality regarding something heavenly?
So it is both, definitely.
Thanks for those warm thoughts on this cold January day.
I'm with Otin-- These are song lyrics.
jj
Thirding the song lyrics. You have so much talent.
very nice poem, excellent imagery, you do know how to write, enjoyed it very much, would appreciate if you could pop over to my blog and read a poem..see you soon, good work..
I feel the beat,
vividly.
Wonderful one!Wonderful!And I love both :)
Ooh! This is SO good!
I agree. I often listen to everyday love songs and think, "This could very well be speaking of the love between an Almighty and a human.
thank you for the visit today,
a simply word or note always brings me cheers, wishing you a happy day.
I admire your writing,
but I appreciate your willingness to touch lives of people as best as you can...
A rare leader,
A fantastic wordsmith. :)
