...and so I just had to stop and drop 7 little unknown tidbits before I board the plane, and then send you on to 7 amazing people...isn't she just wonderful...
1. I pierced my own ear in college by pushing a stud through, which made a wonderful popping noise, only to be rivaled by crack when the dentist broke my tooth in half. These are both sounds I will never forget. I have secretly wanted to get another piercing for the last 6 years...
2. I was once chased down the street naked by an ambulance in full siren and flashing light mode. I am not necessarily proud of this, but I am sure I brightened some drivers night...if nothing else, then by the light of the full moon.
3. I worked stage crew/security for The Offspring! Great show, but not too impressed backstage.
4. I had to walk on crutches for two months after nearly breaking my ankle while jumping over a car trying to make a shot in a game of HORSE...I missed. I never said I was always wise, as evidenced by yesterdays post.
5. I own a Klingon bat'leth, which hangs in the basement and learned to speak a few basic Klingon phrases for a seminar I was facilitating once. My wife has never asked me to whisper sweet phrases in Klingon though, to my disappointment.
6. I still believe in Santa...or at least the magic of the season. I just can't stand doing the decorating...
7. I fear I will run out of stories to tell...
Now go visit some friends, who don't have to worry about accepting, just enjoy them...

Aspen is marvelous this time of year, the perfect place to take Christmas tea and sit by the fire, watching the flames flicker in the eyes of the one you love. If you happen to stop by and are looking for me, that's where you will find me...

...dressed down just for the occasion.

You gotta keep em separated...
Hello Brian:)
Greetings:)
It is quite interesting to read the few insights into your life.
You must have been quite a reckless young man cosidering that you ran naked and jumped over a car. Once a man ran naked in broad day ligt in a busy street in Kochi and emabrassed fathers walking with their young daughters had a tough time closing the eyes of their daughters:)
I agree with the magic of the Christmas season but Sata Claus is something that even my children stopped believing when they reached about 10 years old. My children used to write letters to Santa Claus and give to me for posting:)
Many thanks for the seven wonderful friends you have recommended. I will surely pay them a visit.
Have a nice day Brian:)
Joseph
OUCH! i can't believe you pierced your own ear! i don't do pain well.
and i'm the whole running down the street naked thing? wow...i'm seeing a whole different side of you in this post :)
Well if you're going to be chased down by an ambulance you might as well be naked. That's always been my personal motto.
You can get several stories out of your adventure of being chased naked by an ambulance....... we are all now wondering about hat one!
"I was once chased down the street naked by an ambulance in full siren and flashing light mode."
Put that on a T shirt NOW.
I hope you have a wonderful time in Aspen...I am sure it's beautiful there right about now.
Of course you must know that you have some posts to write once your back home...you must tell us more about these adventures of yours...:) You know, I had this feelin that you have experienced life...running naked down the street...peircing your own ear...do tell my friend...I would love to hear! :) Enjoy the tea!
I loved learning even more fun tidbits about you - though I cringed at you piercing your own ear with a stud... :) Thanks for the giggle on the rest, though! ;)
Brian: Now all your female readers, and perhaps some male, will go to bed with images of you running by the light of the silvery moon . . . Well, I suppose I should only speak for myself. Maybe I should try and erase it with the image of you gouging a whole in your ear. Glad you made it this far so that we can enjoy your writing!!!
Don't worry about running out of stories - sounds like you packed enough into your past to have great content for years!
I don't think you'll run out of stories either. You write what you see and you see many scenes every day. See you in Aspen.
I want to hear the rest of the naked story. Interesting.
See you in Aspen!
I would really like to hear the rest of the ambulance story...haha...boys will be boys :) Enjoy Aspen, delightful!
It's great how you reveal tidbits about your life in this post.... Very creative, and a VERY interesting life. I don't think you have to worry about running out of stories any time soon. The naked ambulance run will keep us entertained for months!
Enjoy the tea! You'll look great.
Cheers,
jj
You have lived an interesting but reckless life!
Piercing your own ear....... not so sensible! I have a son who did that with a darning needle! I didn't know about it for years as he had longish hair!
Nuts in May
Well Brian, you will be quite the ladies man, I think in that Western wear!
While you are lounging around before the Tea, perhaps you can prepare a toast for us at the After Tea Reception, something in Klingon would be perfect! How very fun indeed.
I very much enjoyed your stories here, btw. Shall we expect such escapades at the Tea as well? :)
I am adding you to my promoters with write-ups side bar list. Thank you very much, good man.
Now, why on earth were you chased by an ambulance (and naked?).;)
I so agree with your #6.;)
This was a close to an adventurous list, I must say.;)
Have a great Tuesday,
Zuzana
Ohmygoodness I love The Offspring! Therefore am very jealous of #3!
And I have respect for you for numbers 1 & 2 haha
Have a good time. I will visit your friends blogs as I certainly enjoy yours.
Oh Brian, a lovely departure from your usual posting. Not that there's anything wrong with your usual posting, it's just nice to know a bit more about you. It's almost the end of the first of December here so the tea time post is up. I am also afraid of having nothing to write about, hence fewer and fewer posts these days. Pierced your own ear? GAH. Clare pierced someone elses in South America but I don't think either of us could self harm! Heheh!
HAHA!I will be arriving soon and you got to tell me about it!Specially about the second one!LOL!Nice style!:)
Shall we sneak out th party and get a tattoo?lol
I don't think you'll ever run out of stories to tell! Some of these were quite revealing .
Enjoy Aspen! Enjoy the magic Christmas season!
You were a little rebel weren't you?! I'm not at all surprised your wife has not gone for the Klingon courtship:)
A new look at Brian's place..pictures! Feels like a holiday already with pictures!
Have a great time in Aspen :)
Thanks for sharing...
you made me smile and cringe all at the same time :)
and Aspen sounds wonderful :)
x best wishes and I too believe in the magic of the season.
Ribbon
I've already gotten a jump on Mr. Toast by having copious amounts of decaf Twinings chai tea each night. It seems to be a powerful sleep-inducer.
Delightful.
Lovely tidbits, too. Enjoy Aspen!
You will never ever stop writing, it may change, but you will never run out, have a great tea time lol
Just from those 7 tales, I think you will have tons of stuff to pull material from. No worries about the writing well running dry!
Have a great tea!
Sorry dude but that whole Klingon thing is just odd.
Have you seen New Moon? Are you sure you did not change into a werewolf the night you were naked in the light of the moon. Maybe you had better go back and take another look at what happened. Will expect to meet you at the Tea Party.
QMM
I attempted to pierce my own ear too, but the needle got stuck half way through. OK, actually I chickened out half way through and then was too scared to pull it back out. I had to wait 4 hours for my dad to come home from work and rescue me.
You're making me think of Old Skool with Will running naked down the street. :)
I do love some Offspring!
Your #1 with the ear popping thing....so sickening!
I speak fluent Klingon- when I'm too loaded to speak English... :) Well, it sounds like Klingon...
I'm surprised you didn't get an infected ear. I did when I tried to reopen a closed piercing.
You left a message on my blog yesterday about Mythbusters and duct tape. After reading today's seven insights into your life, I can now understand why your wife doesn't leave you alone for long periods of time with your boys.
You must be related to my teenage son's two best friends. One is now forbidden to make cookies in my house or go near my garage door. Wal-mart has taken out a restraining order against him too..they also lose a glass door. And, like you appear to be, he's so innocent and charming we can't be mad at him...even though it usually cost us something.
Hey, if that's you in the photo, I'd love to see you running anywhere naked! Just saying. Have a great tea!
I love hearing more about people, this was a great post. It seemed everyone in high school and college were piercing their own ears. My sister pierced mine. As for running down the street naked, interesting, never had the chance to do that, but there is always time. Enjoy your tea, I'm off to visit your aforementioned blogs.
I like Cabo's t-shirt suggestion.
And you know we all want the full story now, right?
OMG! Thank you SO much! :) Pierced your own ear?! Running naked down the street?! You have got to use one of those as a theme for your 55-word post! :)
This truly made my day! :)
You know, you can't dangle a little fact like being chased by an ambulance while naked and not finish the story. I feel a complete post regarding the occassion in the near future! ha!
I have 5 piercings in my ears. But never did one myself. The gun they use at the mall doesn't give off the same sound...for which I am thankful, actually! hee!
Love the attire for the tea, Brian...it is SO you. See you there! Are you bringing "T"? You know we all want to meet her!
@Betsy: I'm not sure if Brian will appreciate a term like "dangle a little fact" while you're talking about him running about naked...
Mr. Miller,
I, as well as others, are eagerly awaiting your arrival here in Aspen. Curious, we are, if you will still be in your attire or running around naked in Aspen as well!
I don't think you will ever run out of stories to tell! You could get several from that list. (You must tell us about the naked ambulance chase.)
lol...full story on its way...maybe tonight, if i can get it written...
silver fox...thank you for coming to my defense...i think...
Anytime, guy!
Thank you, thank you! For the shout out! Much appreciated. I need to get dressed and run to the tea, I showed up in pj's.
much love
All the little tidbits here and there. Have a great time in Aspen, take pictures and we await all the news when you return.
great tidbits ... just wait till your boys start picking up where you left off...
lol
smiles,
Ooh. Broke your tooth in half? I've had some amazingly invasive dental procedures, but I've never had a tooth broken. Makes me wince just thinking about it.
Chased naked by an ambulance? Hmmmm..
Your outfit for the tea looks great!
(Still gagging over that stud-episode.)
Love your dressed-down duds!
You've had quite an eventful life (so far).
I'm sure you'll never run out of stories!
Get the piercing, BUT do it right this time!
Thanks for the shout out. You never cease to amaze me with the snippets that you share about yourself. Your weren't around long enough in NN for me to see your fully wild side. However, with each new tail, I am left saying, "I can see that happening to him!". LOL
I think we're going to have to keep a very close eye on you whilst we're here if history is anything to go by!!
Very funny! Imagining the piercing moment made me shiver!
My parents wouldn't let us get our ears pierced until we were 16... so I did my own when I was 13. With a needle. I didn't have any studs so I had to wear my friends big triangle earrings. Needless to say, parents found out, I was grounded, sisters got to get theirs pierced by professionals...
I think it's time for the world to hear the full story! Now me I know it already..well I think I know it already.. cause we both know my guitar have some magic waves that has nothing to do with music!Oh!Brian..is that a tattoo you got here?!Can you pass me the thing please?Virtually stone!:)
Oh, you've been kicking the can around the block. And now, you drop everything and fly to Aspen for tea? Lucky you.
Thanks for recommending new friends.
Good LORD! Everyone wants to see you naked! Can I just post the pictures and get it over with?
Alec Baldwin meets Gollum.
Oh goodness! I'm glad I wandered over. Nice to meet you. With stories like those, I'm sure you'll never go without! I'm still laughing about the ambulance chasing...
Jen
You have led a wild life, Brian...you will have plenty of writing material with memories like these! LOL
I doubt you'll be running out of stories anytime soon.
You can start with that naked story.
Have fun.
Lol at Gman! I love the Offspring!
I think of that scene from Old School where will Ferrel wants to go streaking! hahaha!
I too, worry about running out of stories to tell. I worry that they are going to start being similar to other ones.
Have fun in Aspen!
My Aspen hurtin' all day! hehe
Wow, you're an interesting guy, aren't you?
Here's a little tip from me to you...If you ever pierce your cartilage in your ear, have a professional do it because they know where the nerves are. I learned the hard way that amateurs don't know where nerves are.
I don't think guys like to decorate. Lucky for you, your lovely T probably likes it, right?
Congrats on your award!
You'll never run out of stories with experiences like the ambulance one.
Smiles!
I'm just helping collect tea cups after the party. Great to have met you!
So nice to see you tonight in Aspen! Now we are all anxiously awaiting the end of stories and the show-n-tell of any tatoos/piercings! Maybe an upcoming post? ha!
Loved learning more about you in bits and pieces but I'm going to have to hear more about being chased nekkid by the ambulance.
Great, Brian!! Loved your perfect 7.
I had a thought...
then I saw 66 comments!! LOL Very nice.
I have a good list of stupid things. I will email it. Not really postable??
I know the sound from piercing the ear. It's that kind of sickening thing that you can't get away from, and you might not mind hearing it again.
I too have been chased around naked. It's not fun when the panic sets in.
And you should go for it, get another piercing. They close up.
FUN POST! Have a blast in Aspen!
I'm ashamed of you. You said that "C......mas" word.
aaaah, a kindred spirit, my point exactly as far as santa is concerned!!!
congratulations! lovely award. especially since it made you spill all these 'secrets', heee heee heee
Can't believe you sold my guitar!
I'm still think about you being chased down the street in the nudd! How old were you by the way...!
CJ xx
Hope you managed to find the salmon last night. We brought 20 trays of it. Did you have a chat with Wayne Gretzky before he left early? It was a pleasure meeting you after hearing the naked stories and all...
You'll never run out of stories to tell. I am sure of it.
Ciao friend
Lola xx
Ambulances, flashing lights and sirens and nakedness...more info is needed to compute...have a grand time in Aspen
Sandi
Funny.....and you look so tame in your picture.
and as my mother would say, "He looks like such a nice boy!"
