spirit me away
to
that magical place,
where
even the rain
feels
like rose petals
caressing
your cheek,
enticing
with pungent perfume,
leaving
me breathless
under
full moon's gaze,
rather
than feeling
like
a hungry beggar
sitting
at a banquet table,
without
hands to partake.
the hardest part of the whole poison oak ordeal...
having it on my lips...
i miss your kiss...

Aww. I can only imagine how painful and uncomfortable that must be on your face. I hope you heal quickly...throwing kisses...
the itch
the itch
the itch
the itch
and finally......
the itch. That's the best I got.
Did you ever see "Moonstruck"?
Does T ever slap you and say, "Snap out of it"? haha!
I hope that you guys have a Happy Thanksgiving and watch out for those fast moving trucks that barrel down those hills on I 81!!!
Wow!
Sweet.
I've had poison oak issues before. And it was no fun. No fun at all!
Feel better!
I won't ask how you got that on your face...that must be dreadful!
I hope you heal quickly!
As for my book, it was written on spec to a publisher that markets exclusively to schools and libraries and may be out of print by now. It is not something one would find in a bookstore, but the experience was invaluable.
What type of book are you writing? I'll see if I can come up with some suggestions via e-mail.
Well, if she really loved you ....
or...lips to partake! :) Hope you heal up fast!
Ouch.
Gimme a sec and I'll comment. Just gotta get these darn waders on first...
LOL at Otin!! Hahahahaha! Really tho, how romantic can you be ALL THE TIME. I bet you give her Dutch Ovens, don't ya? Tell me you do, tell me.
My heart so goes out to you Brian. It really does suck. I hope you are much better SOON. I am sure it won't be soon enough. Pray it's all gone by Thanksgiving!!!
Oh nooooooo! I can thoroughly relate. My story about SITTING in a patch of poison oak is here: http://www.mountainbiketales.com/articles/patty409.htm I hope you enjoy it. - Patty, "A Diary Left Open," http://www.sandiegovideoproduction.blogspot.com.
(Thanks for paying me a visit!)
Dude, that is rough. It will go away. In the meantime it has been inspiration for two very good posts.
Aww that's just too romantic.. love it. ;)
How are you doing?
Ouch!
Ow!!! That has to be nearly unbearable!
I hope this is not a true post! I am so sorry if you have been bitten by the oak!
I'm not sure if you are better off with it on your face or your bottom. Neither is preferable.
Seriously? Poison Oak? On your lips? Or is that one of your crafty metaphors. This time I'm stumped.
Brian, you are even more of a hopeless romantic than me, I never thought that was possible.;)
Not to worry, before you know it, the kisses will be back - meanwhile enjoy the bittersweet notion of longing. I struggle with it for months at a time...
:)
Damn! I hadn't even thought of that! That's gotta suck! Funny how we appreciate the little things we take for granted when we can't do them anymore, right? I miss being to walk without a limp and I miss skipping steps. Hope it clears up soon friend. :)
smacks of romance, you are such a wonderful poet and writer, not to mention husband, but then I'd really have to confirm with your wife :) lol
Oh!ohhhhhhhh that one is a winner! How can she not kiss you?Kiss him!
Ouch! Take care xx Lovely words as always
Sweet finish, like at a good meal.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate and a Happy Thursday just to celebrate.Wild Turkeys
that is so sweet!! and i have a feeling she's missing yours too -- if not more ... lol
i hope your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
smiles,
Poison oak on your lips? That's a story in itself!
definitely not a metaphor this time, it spread from my eyes to my lips, ears, hands...you can just keep imagining...it is drying up nicely though and will be very thankful tomorrow as that is the last day of the steroids and i should be clear...hopefully!
The first part made me think of a Calgon bath commercial. But the last thing you said is so sad. As much as you are so in love with your wonderful wife, my heart hurts for you that your poison oak episode caused time without her kisses, at least mouth to mouth kisses.
Wow, this is incredible Brian!
That must have been horrible! Scary that it was in your eyes too!
Glad you are better now!
Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!
Smiles!!
Poison Ivy/Poison Oak makes one feel OBSESSED...it is itchy it is painful...it takes its time in going away...maddening in SO many ways!
My condolences!
Oh, but just think of the first kiss after all that denial of them. ha
So glad you are at the end of your ordeal..and in time for Thanksgiving!
Have a wonderful holiday with you and your lovely family, Brian.
Your gonna need an ocean..
Of calimine lotion!!
Awww poor poppet. Remember abstinance makes the heart grow fonder! hehe! Hope you're not to puffy to enjoy your turkey! Have a great Thanksgiving.
I had it the summer before last summer.. all over my legs. I was sitting in it .. picking it from my yard.. thinking it was simple weed.. my hands...arms.. etc... (luckily not my lips or eyes).
Hugs.. a million hugs.. feel better.
yay drugs. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
Great poetry writing Brian...you are a very talented writer. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! The Bach
Do you write music? Because that sounds like the beginning to a song -- all except the poison oak part : ) so sorry that it's all over. It must suck.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Priceless.
Brian ~ hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family! I'm thankful for meeting you this year! :)
This is so romantic. Itchy, but romantic.
Oh Brian, sorry to hear it is the real thing!
CONGRATS on POTW mention!
I hope you had a good ThanksGiving & Your Lips are healed!
you'll get better again and then you can catch up all the missed kisses ;)
Awwwwwww!
Hopefully the poison oak and itchiness is gone before you know it! :)
Awww that's so sweet. Reading backwards so I'm glad you got your kiss on Thanksgiving morning.
How sweet - and how painful. So sorry for your itchiness. It does itch, right? So did you stick your face where it didn't belong?
OMG! Ouch.
