Moonlight plays
Amid the shadows
Along curves
My fingers long
To trace
As you sleep
Breathing peacefully
Smile teasing
Your lips
I still taste
Salty sweet
Memories lingering
On scented breeze
Lost in dreams
While I watch
My heart aches
To fall head first
Into your eyes
And see forever
In your embrace
Consumed completely
Refilled with you
A sigh escapes
To sleep content.

Ah, love is like that. More powerful than the need to sleep.
Beautiful. (hey, theme thursday isn't until later in the week) :^)
@beth - oh yes, it is.
@willow - ty. and don't worry I'll find some more kisses by thursday. smiles.
You're on your way, my friend. Read poetry - as much as you can - good, bad, mediocre...just read it.
This is the beginning of a beautiful pursuit. Did you show her?
Kat
I have the image completely, 12:23 on the clock, head propped up, just staring as she snoozes away, feeling how lucky you are! Very nice sentiment!
Wow that was beautiful!!
Brian, if you weren't married .... No wait, that's right, I'm a guy.
Wow. A lucky, lucky woman she is!
Such a nice poem, this is writen by a person who is falling in love, or it already is, I like the nice things it says about it.
Wow.
Um, could you talk to Mr. B, please? Thank you in advance.
Sweet dreams!
Delicious. Bravo.

sigh.....awwwww....to be loved....
Great poem Brian.I am sure you enjoyed writing it just as much as I enjoyed reading it.
Brian, by George( who-ever he is ), I think you've got it! Splendid, m'boy! I can send you some poetry books but your library should have ample supply...
Say, a couple of really really great posts, here and yesterday...!You are turning into quite the poet.
@CJ - i try...romance seems to die an early death with the acquisition of wedding bands. just call me a resistance fighter...ha.
@kay - smiles.
@AB - been a while since i tried my hand at poems...this one and the one last week were the first in years...was fun to play.
@subs - if i see George i will tell him you are looking for him. lol. never as good as your lines, but i will settle for a pale resemblence.
@tom - coming from the man that spins words like hurricanes...i will take it. ty.
Love is grand!
:-)
Love the new pic!
Beautiful poem, Brian. You seem so happy and at peace.
Brian, just remember with free verse, rhyming isn't required. It comes from with-in. Just let it flow out :)
*sigh* That. Is. Beautiful.
wow!That was so beautiful Brian!!!:))
I see you are getting the handle of writing sweet poetry. From writing short stories in blog format, you went into long prose. Enjoyed the entries with your kids and family as it flows out easily from your words.
I want to graduate into writing other things later on (outside of love and intimacy) but I don't have that many "interesting" life experiences to share yet.
