Thank you for joining us today, we have the distinct privilege of interviewing Logan Miller, 6 year old son of Brian Miller, author of waystationone. Logan, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to give us the inside scoop on your dad for Father's Day. Ready to get started?

Describe your dad for us.

My dad is really tall and weighs 1600 pounds. He has green eyes and his hair is wacko.

I see. Sounds kind of scary. What is your favorite thing to do with your dad?

That's easy....wrestle. My best move is karate chop. Cole's is to jump on you when you aren't looking. Dad cheats, he tickles.

Smiles. If your dad was stuck on an island, what would he want to have with him?

The rest of our family.

But what about food?

We would eat coconuts and drink the milk. I have never tried it, but we would make it.

Ok, let's go the other extreme, if your dad had a million dollars what would he buy?

Toys! Lot's of toys!

Your dad likes toys? Sounds like maybe you want the toys.

He likes toys. I would let him play with a few. I would buy him books as well. He really likes to read.

Final question Logan. As you know, today is Father's Day. Is there anything you want to say to your dad, that you really want him to know?

Yeah, I want him to be quiet.

Err...not "i love you?"

Nope, be quiet and wrestle!

Oooff! See you next time folks...gotta go take care of...

Verily I go. said...

YES YES, torture the children. Tickle, tickle tickle. Toys, coconuts and a book. I want to be 'stuck' on an island too. Hugs for everyone Brian, happy day.

So you're a tall, blue eyed, book reading, coconut milk drinking, grossly overweight wrestler who is gagged and stranded on a desert island with nothing but a bunch of toys on loan from your kids?

That would make a great reality show.

Happy Padre's Day, Cousin!

This was such a cute post! Logan sounds adorable, and a thoughtful and loving son. :-)

Happy Father's Day to a great Dad!

Baino said...

Haha . . truth from the mouths of babes! And tickling is definitely cheating. My dad used to tickle my feet and my raucus laughter made him think I enjoyed it . . I didn't, I just couldn't do anything but laugh.

Lola said...

Great post, Logan. Your dad sounds cool.

My son, who is 3 years younger than you, is starting this wrestling thing too. I'm not as much fun to play with because he's strong and I wail "ouuuuch" almost immediately. No fun wrestling a wimpy mom...

Lola (E's mother)

OH yeah no sucking up to dad, this kid knows his stuff (and his daddy's love) what a precious interview, bravo Logan!!!!
When my son was young he went into all sorts of wrestling, but now he prefers playing the guitar, he's very good lol

That was great! Awesome post.

@candie - sometimes a smile says it all...

@rob - ty. Logan is a nut. It all started with my Fathers Day card which said "Daddy means wrestle." I like to think Wrestle means love. Especially a forearm blast to the midsection...on me of course. smiles.

@lola - i am sure E loves it! Cole (4) is merciless and leaves me with bruises and ouches all the time.

@lorraine - i think all boys go through this phase as they are figuring out what it means to be a man. i think there is love found in it, especially in the hugs when we lay exhausted and bruised.

@baino - lol. fun memories. their favorite thing is to knock me down and will make me get back up on my knees over and over again just o keep doing it...

@lover of life - Logan is amazing. It gives me joy to wake up to them each day.

@ronda - oh yes! it was on like Donkey Kong!

@subtorp - tickle monster abounds! yeah, think he took a bit of pleasure in this at my expense.

@jml - when you get there. i hope for that too. having young boys brings out the boy in all of us. they have so much to teach as well.

@willow - he corrected me later when we were tumbling around...6000. yeah, i'll get him back for that one. do you remember when dad seemed so big? like a giant he towered least that is what i hope he was thinking.

@maggie - thanks for stopping by. hope to see you around soon. will stop by your place.

@otin - i don't know what this says about his honesty...1600 pounds...seriously. Sounds more like the price of the hammer to build the government building to me. smiles.

@lakeviewer - just got your comment from yesterday as well. thanks for stopping by. will be by soon. would like to think we know each other well. thats the goal at least. pavingthe way now for when he really needs me.

@wings - ty. had a great fathers day yesterday! got a hammer, a book andd a great card that joined the others in my bedside table for future memories.

@DF - don't ya know. I put on about 1410 pounds since is saw you last week and took up professional wrestling. hear they have a great health care

@verily - yeah, being on the island may help with the weight he put on me there. as far ass the torture...he loved every minute. smiles.

This is one of the best interviews have ever read!

Valerie said...

Late again! Not too late to congratulate you on your highly intelligent son ... smile. Love to Logan, tell him to keep bashing away ...

Mrsupole said...

Someday when Logan is famous you will be able to say that you got the first interview with him. This interview will be priceless. It would be kinda neat if you did this every year. Just to see what has changed in his life and brain. They grow up so fast. Too fast. And just keep those hugs and tickles coming. Hubby does it with our grandsons and they love it. I hate to be tickled and so they never do it to me. Nothing irritates me more than to be tickled. Ugh.

God bless.

Brian Miller said...

@quilly - lol. yeah, he had fun with this one. he'l love all the comments when i share them with him in a bit.

@valerie - better late than never. he's funny, or at least he thinks he is. oh, he does not need ancouragement on the bashing...smiles.

@mrsu - your piece on Iran today was stunning. hope everyone here stops by there. (shameless promotion) i think it would be fun to capture these once a year like you said, probably even with Cole. Know the grandkids love it when your hubby gets them, and you know they want to get you, especially since they know you don't like it. maybe they will give you grace. smiles.

California Girl said...

awww Brian that was genius. Love the Q&A.

I remember my youngest son made a Mother's DAy card for me in 2nd grade. He described me as a "Mommy" who "wears pearls" and a "house dress" and who is "51 years old". I was 39 at the time. I wore suits and worked. I hope I still have the card as I remembered it reading your post. Thanks.

Mrsupole said...

Thank you for saying my piece about Iran was stunning, that is very nice of you. I also wanted to please ask if you would like to e-mail it to friends and family because it can get out into the world faster that way. Or if you want to copy it and put on your post that is great too. You have my permission to do that. I just feel we have all sat and watched, and did nothing and it is time we try to do something. This was all I knew that I and all of us could do.

Thank you again and God bless.

1600 pounds! Wow, most boys would be afraid to wrestle with a man of this size, but not your brave guy :). That is one tough guy you have there. I love that he knows you want your family most on an island! Bravo and Happy Fathers Day. Many boys would never guess this simple fact about their daddy.

Janie said...

Funny! Our kids loved to wrestle with their dad when they were little. They always insisted they were the strongest!
