Of course the fun came when the tower became the target of flying stuffed animals. If only tearing down our own monuments was so easy.

ESPN radio reported this morning that the rate of vasectomy goes up 20% during the NCAA tournament. They attributed this to the ability of a guy to sit around all day watching basketball while he rest and recuperates. I wonder if it has to do more with poor bracket performance.

Last night was billions of lights out for an hour during the annual Earth hour. Organizers wanted to show support for a new UN deal to fight global warming by the end of 2009. We had good intentions, but remembered a bit late. Did you participate? why or why not?

I forgot! 'playing with my new laptop!!!!
I didn't know about it! Is it a worldwide thing?
Now that is some tower of Babel you have there! Did you practise different languages too?
Re vasectomy rates- I call that canny family planning!
I guess you can say we participated, because we left the house for over an hour and went shopping, so nothing was on. But then again it was central time and we are pacific time. I think it does not matter when, just as long as they were off for an hour. Just think if this was a monthly project instead of just a yearly project. What would happen then. I keep all lights off except the ones we are using. So I try to do it all year round.
I like your tower of babel and funny stuff about the vasectomy increases.
But most of all I like that you and the boys provided church for Mom. That is so sweet and to sing on top of that. Dancing included, that's great. That is just love, really love. I think you are teaching your boys some really fantastic things in life. You are a great father and hubby.
God bless.
Well we usually participate in Earth Hour but being my niece's 21st at home it was a little hard to turn off the music . .we did dim the lights! Love the lego tower!
Yeah my lights were off for an hour yesterday. I wish we accomplished something by doing that. However, doing something is definitely better than doing...nothing so :-)
Peace and love

Your tower of Babel is fabulous--I showed it to my daughter, and she loved it.
We did turn our lights out--it was actually quite fun and festive!
@tony...nice, what did you get.
@marianna...yeah, wonder if it was noticed. at least it got some awareness.
@leah...thanks. always try to make learning fun. we tend to lose that as adults and become subjected to death by lecture. too bad.
@mrsu...wonderful comments as always. we try, and hopefully some of it sinks in with the boys. it would be easy just to skip church, but again what would that teach them. was fun!
@ cinnamon...yup, got a lot of press here and on yahoo. A lot of the monuments around tha world went dark as well. did not know all the background until i researched it a bit yesterday. evidently been happening for about 3 years.
@baino...hope the birthday was fun!
Earth Day? Yes, we remebered. It was a nice hour with relaxing candle light. The husband was pining for the basketball game but went along. Vasectomy and basketball, who knew?
