I'm at the beach on a Director's Offsite, discussing the future plans for Waters Edge. Yesterday we took some individual time to evaluate our lives, where we have come from and where we find ourselves now.
It's been a while since I carved out the space in my day to do some self evaluation and recalibration. It's like checking the alignment on your car. It does not impede your ability to drive, so we don't think about it, until it's too late. Tire start to wear down and once a wear pattern has started it's hard to change.
Sometimes we get hung up in the evaluation and miss making it practical, by coming up with a plan. This is my favorite part, the dreaming and planning. I think it is my inner artist ready to fingerpaint creation.
It is important for us to take time away individually each year to get away and get real with ourselves and with our God. When was the last time you took a "retreat" to recalibrate?

So did you come up with a plan? I tried only just two weeks ago, but it doesn't seem to be working :-(
Working on it. In the dreaming and planning stage, more questions always seem to come up. Its a fun process though. Getting close.
I know what you mean about plans not working though. Sounds like its time to reevaluate. I really do enjoy this too much.
i don't do that often enough..... but i dream/plan on constructing an underground lair (i.e. the batcave) so as to have a formal place for dreaming & planning... in a cave... alone... possibly wearing my thinking-tights
I did some self evaluation recently. Just sitting at home, thinking, I realized that I need to train my mind to be more positive.
Retreat?? What do I need to retreat from? Darned the torpedos, full steam ahead.
My wife and I took last year before I went into full time ministry what we called a Vision Marriage Retreat, goal setting, dream casting and it was awesome! We are going to try to do it each year.
Thats a good plan...wish my church would get on board with these "offsites" im lucky if I can leave onsite for lunch
